  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

I hate how it’s popular to not like the Avatar movie. (the blue-people alien Pandora space one). Is it amazing? No. But I get tired of people saying ‘it stinks & sequels are going to be horrible & all the money it made wasn’t worth it’ etc. etc. I enjoyed it & hope the sequels do well. I guess it's the part of me that loves cheering for underdogs.

The highest grossing movie of all time is an underdog? To me, it was identical to Ferngully, which, ironically, was the very first movie I saw in theaters.

Funny story, I did enjoy the 3D part of Avatar. It was the first 3D movie I've seen in theaters and my friend was laughing at me because I was dodging out of the way of flying canisters and swatting at the bugs. ^_^

From what you have told in the past. The women in your church and in your city you meet are married.

Just curious have you ever tried Christian dating sites?

Maybe the love of you life is not in your town, but out there in another state or even in another country.

You have a job. Your are still young. Your female friend says you have pretty eyes. Your are Christian. You have alot going for you. Have you ever thought about posting a picture of your self on here?

Maybe there are 100's of nice Christian female lurkers on this forum that will check out your picture and say who is that he is cute, I better join and chat some more with that guy. Who knows?
I am unwilling to fly out to to meet someone. Maybe if I was more of a traveler?
Thanks for your post.

So what is new with you all? I am hooked on Paper mario origami king
and have been playing for hrs each day.
Not too much is new for me! Mostly watching my niece and nephew lately! ^_^
Sounds like fun!!!

Ha ha, I love that part. That was on the other day & I was watching it. I’ve seen it before & I want to watch it all over again!

BTW, I had always thought it was strange the Scarecrow wanted brains b/c he always seemed reasonably smart to me, & I JUST REALIZED that’s the whole point! & what’s more: he’s not really a scarecrow, he just doesn’t think he has the brains to do anything else! This is the difference between watching it as a kid & watching it as an adult I suppose!

But he still always felt like the oddball to me. The TinMan, he doesn’t have a heart, he’s made out of tin. The Lion gets scared all the time. But the Scarecrow wanting brains never made sense to me. Till now!
Yeah it is a great movie and I haven't seen it in a while either!!! ^_^

My life is being wasted :circle:

Can I just say this thread is awesome? ^_^

My brother's TV is starting to creep me out. Twice when I turned it on, a weird voice came from it for a few seconds, and it was on an instrumental music channel! :screamcat:
Yes! ^_^

Ohhhh, sounds creepy!! ^_^ Keep us updated on any more strange activity! hahaha

We've gotten around 6 inches so far and about 6 more to go.
Ohhh!!! Lots of snow!!! It's crazy how something so beautiful can be so much trouble sometimes! hahaha! We only got a light dusting last night here. ^_^

Hope everyone's day is going well so far!

Same here, Miss Somber. Same here.

.... If I may so myself, I definitely earned this glass of Ginger Rogers that I now sip politely here at the bar of Mule Kick. ^_^

I am an exorcist part-time, Miss @Multifavs . Perhaps I can help. The demons of the Abyss are even more fearful of me than Father Salade from La Pucelle. And he had demon-slaying martial arts skills unparalleled in our time. ^_^

I am seriously considering cutting off a friend of 22 years.

His mental health issues have led him to maliciously slander groups of people to which I belong. This isn't the first time, and I have talked to him about this before. Yet, it continues.

He has talked about killing himself before, and I have solicited prayer support when he has done that. If I cut him off, that will no longer happen. Neither will he get any further help from me, and he has definitely needed help in recent years. He's on an unsustainable path, he has burned through so much. If I do this, I will be letting him drown in his own toxicity and negativity, and he may end his own life.

Yet, I hesitate because I don't like leaving friends. I was the person growing up who would seek friendships, and not find them, or who would find them only to be betrayed later. The friends I did have were few, and they were not always consistent. I try to be the kind of friend that I wish I had growing up.

Maybe I'm just writing this so that people will pray for us. Maybe I won't do it, but I'm close.

Yikes, that sounds like a tough situation. It sounds like he may need professional help. Besides that your emotional and mental health are important too.

My concentration has been so bad the past week.
Aww, that's never fun!

Hmm, who might this cutie be, by the way? ^-^

I suppose I might be able to understand @GodDoesListen55 's arguments against Winter, now.
All day today and yesterday while at work we were warned of a winter storm making things a bit ugly in the latter half of the week, and while outside to take care of laundry just now I could definitely sense something different in the night air. The wind just seemed unpleasantly chilly and ... ominous, somehow. ... Definitely not the normal pleasantness of winter chilliness that I am accustomed to receiving from her. Please pray for all of us in Arkansas that bad times aren't about to be had over the next few days.

All of us are definitely glad to see you around so much more these days, my dear Somber. Every post you make in this community is an obvious reason why, too, in case you are wondering. Sampa was certainly correct in her good assessment of you a few weeks ago.
