Has anyone else ever got so lost in thought, they completely zoned out and said or did something embarrassing?

I sometimes get so lost in thought, I completely zone out of where I am and it's like the rest of me goes on autopilot and I say/mumble something that's on my mind that sounds random/stupid/weird out of context. This happened to me last week when I was at a doctor appointment. I was waiting at the front desk, I didn't want to be there and I was looking around, zoned out. When I looked back to the front desk I saw the doctors and the secretaries looking at each other, the doctor looked like they where trying not to laugh. I felt like an idiot and have been racking my brian for the last few days trying to remember what I said. This has happened to me a few times in public and I'm going to try to avoid doing it again.

Oh, boy, happens to me too...one time, I was at work and there was a "Rapid", it's when a patient is in a emergent situation requiring the whole medical team to be present in the room. So this pt was unconscious, and they were trying to figure out why, well I happened to be in the hallway, and wanted to help out, I grabbed the blood glucose monitor (cause sometimes it could be low blood sugar causing it), anyways, made my way in the tiny cramped room, everyone was there, doctors, respiratory therapists, neurologists, charge nurse...Did a pinprick on the person's finger but circulation was terrible so did it on earlobe, grab the strip that absorbs the blood and popped the strip in the portable blood glucose monitor...it would do a countdown while analyzing...5...4...3...2...1..., well for some odd reason I zoned out and when it reached "3", I pulled the strip out prematurely...and everyone in the room just let out a "gasp!" Lol I was like, "Ack! So sorry!" Lol, it's good blood was still oozing from the earlobe, so immediately took another test strip and waited till the countdown finished. Thank goodness, the blood sugar was within normal range...Lol, one of my coworkers was making fun of me about that incident and said, "YOU HAD ONLY ONE JOB, ONE JOB ABBY!!!"

Anyway, who has any place to tell you you’re weird? Have you ever spent time among the people of this world? They’re all crazy. They’re all messed up. Weirdness is the only normal thing.

Part of yesterday was so boring that I almost found myself falling asleep several times, lol. :boredsleep: But something good did happen: I finally thought of another good idea for a traditional drawing, which I sketched!

Random: Out of all the people who've met on CF Singles and gotten married, I can't think of one couple who've livestreamed or recorded the ceremony for others to watch. I wonder who's going to be next o.0

thanks SK! lol you're so understanding! :unbelievable:

I've had a few good memories of all-nighter treks through various RPG and survival horror games in my distant past. So I understand.

Just, you know, maybe TEN hours straight can cause some health problems to develop, so it probably is wise to keep the binge gaming nights to six or less, and not do them terribly often. ^-^

Random gaming thoughts!

I must be getting better at Super Smash Bros. Brawl. In the Subspace Emissary I used to have a lot of trouble with at least one of the bosses as well as the fights against Bowser, the giant false Diddy Kong, and a few certain enemies. I remember I used to just quit when I got to the giant Diddy Kong because he was so hard to beat. :p (and this is on Easy difficulty...)

I used to never be able to dodge attacks or shield against them for some reason but now I can. Now I seem to be able to beat all of those enemies without too much trouble. I beat the giant Diddy Kong the last several times I fought him - I just hit him with a weak attack over and over until he had lots of damage and then sent him flying. :p Lol it's easier than I thought. Why didn't I think of that before?

The only enemies that give me much trouble now are the false Peach and Zelda...why are they so difficult? :waaah:

I've been playing this game for 10 years so it's kind of sad that it took me so long, lol. But I am older now, after all.

Yes we did, but didn't you sleep through it?

You didn't? =P

Although I admit, the ridiculous quirkiness of the heroine in question as she tried to BS her way through being a believer to land the guy did keep me awake. It's just that this was one of those movies where I wonder why it even needs to exist. And it was almost like a parody of a feel-good Christian-based movie about one person's journey to becoming a believer, rather than being serious about its intended message. Remember when she tried to pray on her first date? I was like, do the makers of this film actually think believers in Christ are this stupid or oblivious? Where the guy couldn't even spot a faker for that long even as he dates her?

Eh, whatever makes movie goers happy. If they find it to be a nice little feel-good romance film, then more power to them. I can at least say I don't take outright offense at the seeming sentiments of Christian Mingle, like I do The Notebook or ... just about every Christmas-themed romance movie out there.

Anyone here good with cameras? I have a Nikon D3200, barely used probably only used it <30 times lol. Anyways, my dad got it for me as a gift 2014, i think it was about $500. It's just been in my room for forever, I wanted to sell it to pay of some credit card debt that I have. How much should I sell it?

This is actually part of my job, reselling used camera equipment.
Unfortunately, technology depreciates rather quickly, even if you don’t use it.
You might get $350 for it... I would list it around $299. Hopefully it will get bid up a bit.
