I came across this comedian named Jim Gaffigan (vaguely remember him from a time before) on YT, today, and he said something that is obviously meant to be funny but I actually kind of take a bit of wisdom from. It was about how amazing women are for being able to sustain and bring forth new life within their bodies (of course that life is ultimately created by God, I believe, even if conception has scientific basis behind it).
"Really all women really are amazing and I mean that in a very pandering way. (*
with cheers from the women in the audience*) But they really are. I mean, a woman can grow a baby INSIDE her body ... and then somehow deliver a baby THROUGH her body ... and then, by some miracle, feed a baby WITH her body."
When you think about it that way, women are to be appreciated for having the ability and fortitude to do that at all. If giving birth really is at all equivalent in terms of pain to passing a kidney stone, then, yeah.
But just to add what Gaffigan said after that because I found it funny (I personally find it to be one of those harmless jokes that aren't seriously pandering to one gender and being sexist against the other in any way; just poking fun, because all of us guys and girls each have our quirky stereotypes ^-^ ):
".... So when you think about the male contribution to life (*laughter*) ... it's kind of embarrassing. (*then speaks in a man's voice*) 'Well you know I totally helped, too! For like, five seconds ....' "
