I hope you had a great Christmas despite the cancellation. I've heard of another family this Christmas that had to cancel out and a cousin almost because of a contact but his test came back negative.

I love those kinds of moments! I love the expressiveness of children and their pure joy. It brings back so many memories.

It was a great Christmas,It was fun visiting with my Uncle Bobby anyways and having him over for dinner.

Thanks for asking. My plan is to do a run in the morning and strength training. Cook breakfast and cook Christmas food for my aunt in the nursing home. In the afternoons see her with some food in a conference room, and then some of our family will join in on zoom. I just dropped off presents but my aunt had help with wrapping. She had a stroke 5 years ago and can't move part of her body. The pandemic has brought some positive things into my life, I never would have been spending it with her if there were issues with social distancing.

Im happy you had a great Christmas and were able to help someone out.
aww I wish I could. I might be visiting your state next year for my cousin's daughter's wedding :) I just have to figure out how my marathon training plan is going to fit in there. I think I will have to run either 8 to 17 miles. It's 3 weeks before the marathon.

Enjoy the time that you have offline and with those that you will be around. Also celebrating the real reason for Christmas.

Who cares if it's weird or not! I shamelessly bought a few toy stuffed animals recently and it made my day! :muahah:I say let the inner child free,
I totally agree! I don't think it's weird at all. You're never too old for plushies! :D

Ramen Shop is closed today. =[ :(:(:(:( I am sad.

The disappointment today, makes the ramen taste sweeter tomorrow.

^ A concept I've learned to carry over into every aspect of life.

I was out of town 3 hours away yesterday & lost my phone. Someone found it. I won't get a chance until Friday to pick it up. Hopefully they'll hold onto it that long & it'll still be there Friday.

I am ALWAYS losing my keys, wallet, and/or phone. :(
Just the other day I left my wallet on the counter at Walgreens & got home & had to turn around & go get it.

What is the trick to not losing these items? I used to not be able to find my keys whenever I had to go out but started to put it on my coatrack hook & have always been able to find them since.

I am the same way. Name it and I'm capable of losing it. I can't offer advice but wish I could.

Earlier this fall I left my wallet at the gym. Had to go back & get it too. Definitely an ongoing issue. :(

Thankfully there's always a kind soul who returns the items. Despite constantly losing this stuff, I've only lost my wallet permanently once & my keys permanently once.

... But on a lighter note, my waitress at the restaurant next door to my college that I only very recently discovered, one Miss Reese, has been exceedingly polite and friendly company even for the standards of her profession. It has done much to lift my spirits, really. I gather she is a student at this same school. If so, I hope that she likes being there very much, as I did. For she seems young enough to easily be just starting out in her freshman year. Ah, good memories of being new there, myself, back in Fall of 2002.
^-^ College days were much more pleasant ones for me personally than high school and before.

EDIT: I just asked her. She did seem quite pleased with being a student at SAU this far. I hope that she finds her way soon despite not being certain of the major she initially chose, as she just told me, and that the Lord will grant her success and personal peace with the one she chooses in the end.

I was pleased to have Miss Reese as my waitress again at this restaurant after a rather harsh day at work today (the place is called Mulekick, by the way ... since the SAU mascot is what is known as a Mulerider ... for whatever reason ^_^ ). She actually seemed to volunteer to be the one to take care of me since it was not the busy evening hours quite yet, without my asking for her. She is talkative and asking so many questions about my own life. I could not help but feel compelled to inquire as to how her first semester ever at SAU went, which was just this past Fall. She seems to have taken the challenges that it presented to her well, and says that for the upcoming Spring, she will be in a lot of business classes. A much different path from the one that I myself took while in school there ^_^, as the only business-related class I ever had to be a part of with my degree was Agricultural economics, and I avoided that one until my very last (eleventh) semester, as that kind of thing just wasn't my forte. I hope that we continue to get along well. This place serves well to unwind after a string of hard 12-hour days in which I finally have 48 to 72 hours off before having to return. :)

.... Buuuuut, not sure that skillet brownie dessert served me so well, as I am feeling a bit heavy in the tummy right now. =/ Not such a great feeling, but hopefully will go away soon if this mildly sick feeling is due simply to eating something so heavy.

I haven't been much into country music since I lived in Texas when I was a kid. My sister got me hooked on Chris Stapleton over Christmas :D He's got such an amazing voice!
