I have a lot of friends and family in CA. It's a lovely place. One of the worst prayers I had to pray in recent years was concerning Hollywood. I had to make the offer. But I didn't want to go! You face your mortality in those moments. Thankfully, I'm headed elsewhere.
I used to date someone who lived in Tahoe and had family in Sonora. The area was tranquil. I love wine country but living in CA would vex my spirit. I'd only go if the Lord sent me.
Interesting. Maybe it's all the catholic influence? Who knows?
As much as I dislike Hollywood and the LA area in general, the rest of California really needs an apologetic defense. Yes people are leaving in droves, mostly because of taxes, but what a lot of Easterners don't realize is that California is a really huge state, with quite a lot of beautiful wilderness and farm areas. And it has a lot of christian tradition. Attached are some photos I took recently of the area I live, and Northern California is equally if not even more amazing. It's really too bad for outsiders that Hollywood tends to get all of the focus, but good for locals, since the hidden places stay that way
There's a lot involved but laborers are needed in all fields. Christians have difficulty feeling empathy for those in privileged positions. It's a distinct type of ministry. Many fall prey to the trappings of wealth and lose their way.
That's why I'm leery of people who want the good life who can't afford it. They're easy to buy off and they'll compromise your mission. You need someone in your corner who won't flip. That's hard to find.

I wish you luck. It's the one with Sadie Sink, maybe they gave her a better role.
Oh yeah... prayer, fasting, and a team.
I just hope I didn't already push away the team I've been praying for.

You could impact Hollywood from Georgia now too...I hear.
Heck, with all the platforms these days, you don't have to go for the entertainment epicenter.
I sense a shift in that industry...as you alluded to, its slaves will need a way out.
You are the sole reason Im in this thread, tough Bella is rather nice, and so are Sarahs knight.

I dont know why/how, but I feel drawn to you, yet i feel you push me away. Like magnets are pushed from each other. You are the sole reason Im in this thread, tough Bella is rather nice, and so are Sarahs knight.
I'm kind of a fan of Stranger Things. The first season is the best but the later ones have some good moments. Fear Street used Maya Hawke as well who was in season three of ST. Apparently she got killed off early in Fear Street Part One so it was more of a cameo appearance. Good to hear Sadie's role is decent since the ST cast was part of my interest in the trilogy.Had to look up which one she was as I only ever saw the first few episodes of Stranger Things.
^-^ Cute girl. I think overall I liked her character in this one, although there were moments I felt compelled to roll my eyes and be like "really?" with hers and some other characters' dialogues, thinking they were having unrealistic reactions to some situations and things said by characters they were sharing the scene with.
Overall, I'd say this is an improvement. Maybe a 6 out of 10, which is at least okay in my eyes, although for the first 30 to 45 minutes or so I was dreading this would turn out to be even worse than part 1.
But then the story and the method with which the heroes decided they must take down the killer made more sense this time than part 1, and there was even a very pleasant surprise with one character the movie made out to be seemingly as gross and obnoxious as possible in the way that only slasher films would do, but then the story kept her around long enough to have her make something of a heel-face turn and show some humanity and realness, even kind of giving an explanation for why she was the way she was at first, and it didn't seem forced or contrived. When you can legitimately have me rooting for a character to survive and triumph after going through an arc in which she started off causing me to groan and roll my eyes, you've done something good as a writer.
^-^
I will say this, though; exercise personal discernment with watching part 2, sir. It is quite shocking and gruesome with some of the death sequences. But somehow I think they were trying to only be legit horrifying rather than just tasteless in the so-doing.
I've been a fan of off-grid living, homesteads and survivalism myself for a while, and sometimes watch shows like Building Off The Grid, Homestead Rescue and Survivor Man. There is a certain appeal to sustaining yourself and earning your livelihood from the ground up - living off the land and being disconnected from big cities or government provision.I recently heard about a guy that managed to live alone in the woods for twenty seven years. He even managed to survive the winter cold by walking in circles to keep himself warm since he said he was afraid to start a fire because someone might see it. Although I wouldn't want to live like him I probably would like to become a hermit like him someday. When I become a millionaire I hope to build a house like this but bigger and more comfortable, where I could have everything I could ever need.
Completely off the grid and self sufficient. No noisy neighbours or unwanted noise. No unwanted human interaction. Just peace and quiet.

You'll know when they come from Him. There's unmistakable signs.
There seemed to be these with her.
