  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

12 hours. I did consent for this, though. In fact I volunteered out of financial necessity.

Wow. Hope you do not have to do that for long and take at least a little short vacation afterwards if you can.

LOL You're a hoot. *grins You can be my little brother.

I've never had the pleasure of the Neo's company. *lol

Yeah, I had a childhood friend who was a first generation Russian immigrant. Neo-Nazis are ironically pretty popular there. My friend and his brother liked me, but one of his friends suspect I was a Jew and was quite hostel with me. Over time he gradually accepted I was not and acted more friendly. Found him pretty intolerable.. there was a time he was asking me and my friends for urine (to help others pass drug tests) for PS2 games.. and we were all like.. no thanks.

He reminded me a lot of that fat guy from American History X. Lol.

Lol. He even looked like him and had the mannerisms. I actually like that movie. Seems like they got some of that neo-Nazi scene down right.

I remember people asking for urine for drug tests. But he's trading games. That's crazy! I recall in my teens visiting some pals and they were doing laundry in the tub like the olden days. They spent the money on pot. The laundromat is a block away. I can't!

The swish was unacceptable! I came close to telling. But their stupidity would be discovered so I didn't. I was close with their mom. I had to pour after that. You're expecting a sane day and they're hunched over a tub. *lol

Yeah, I eventually broke off ties with those friends. When I got older I didn't want anything to do with that stuff.

In other news I found a temporary job.. worked there before and the people are nice. At least something to hold me over until I land an IT job again.

Congratulations! Much better than the last. *squish

Good idea. You have to let the crazy go. I remember one time we spent the night in Burger King. When you reach that point it's time for an intervention!

Oh yeah. That job was extremely painful. The hours here are good and consistent and I got along with many people well. Although there were a few women there into me that I didn't feel the same way.. not really looking forward to meeting them again if they work there.. but eh it shouldn't be that much of a big deal.

I'm sort of sad about it, but you know.. I don't want to hang around with neo-Nazis. Even if my friend was often quiet about that stuff and seemed to just go along because his older brother was into it. By the time I was a teenager the innocence of that stuff couldn't be ignored. I looked at his profile recently and he made a post against Nazi Germany so I think he changed at least.

You don't need to be around that. My friends were wild and my parents should have been more clued in. I shouldn't be in Burger King playing poker after dark. I think it put me on a path of freeness. If you see it from that perspective.

You grew up in the city didn't you? Probably more wild there.

I agree though, who you hang around is pretty important. I find neo-Nazis pretty repugnant even though I defend their free speech to SJWs. Jew hatred is a psychological state you do not want to play around with. Not even sure why people hate Jews they've contributed so much to science and culture. I admire them over other groups, I don't despise them for whatever weird reason others do.

Teens were allowed to enter clubs when I was younger. But we could get into adult venues too. No one took IDs too seriously then. That included straight and gay clubs.

Jews are hated for their prowess. The ideal is instilled in their youth. Few would do what I've done with my daughter. But at 29 she's single, childless, and self-employed. The world is her oyster. It depends on your goals.

We all have a duty of some measure.

Interesting. My suburban childhood was probably pretty boring compared to your city based one. Lol.

The average IQ of an Ashkenazi Jew being 115 certainly makes them stand out. Not only in socioeconomic realities, but being more apt to embrace new ideas such as progressivism. In theory I can understand why a conservative minded person might grow to hate them, but the hate is irrational. Jews are not part of some supposed sick race, but from a group that is highly intelligent and creative and acts accordingly just as any other race of people will act with such talents. It isn't any reason to hate them. Quite to the contrary.

Molding is more acceptable in Jewish circles than in others.

Yeah. Might be more of a case for having more material on average to mold too.

You'd be surprised. You'll probably find that you'll pop amongst the college leaver/university demographic. Anything goes with them, especially over here and in Europe.

'All Things Must Pass' makes Lennon's Imagine album look like trash - which says a lot, because John has some class tracks on that, especially 'How Do You Sleep?'

Talking of which, I opened my birthday presents a few hours early and found an original pressing of Double Fantasy. I'm going to load it up tomorrow night - I'll get emotional but it has to be done. With that, Ogden's Nut Gone Flake and The Beatles White Album, my retro vinyl collection is really starting to take off. (The smell of that old cardboard is just glorious - I know, call me weird.)

Adding to the notebook counts - in fact, the handwritten notes are probably MORE important. You can't grow a field of wheat without seeds in the ground.

Playing some more Last Of Us 2.

Do find one scene funny.

The scene where they show Abby's father who was killed by Joel in the first game. In the first game I decided to kill the lead surgeon by burning him alive with a flame thrower, yet the flash back in the Last Of Us 2 just shows a gunshot as the cause of his death. lol.. yeah that's not cannon to how I played the game.. lol

Went to a traditional Turkish barber today - and for the first time EVER I let someone else (who wasn't me) trim my beard. Oh, how I've been missing out. As I look in the mirror now I realise that I should never be allowed to trim my own beard again.

The fullness, the definition, the graduated taper from the sides down to the chin - on POINT.

They know how to trim a beard, that's for sure. And for a man who rates his beard over his hair, it's incredible how I've never let anyone touch it before. Lesson learned.
