  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

One more 12-hour day of work before my "weekend". (Yeah, Monday's can be the last day before a weekend or so's worth of time off when you are on a shift schedule. ^_^ )

Oh, and good news. Sara still seems like "one of us" as she was training me on my first real day in the lab Saturday. She liked to do things by the book, which I am totally fine with as long as you don't forget to see the wood for the trees in the so-doing. She did not appear to look down on me at all like a totally new person whose first time at the rodeo was now.

It was actually another contract employee from Brown and Root like myself who I had to be stuck with training with today who seems a little annoying, while Sara had to tend to another section for the day. >_> Not in the bossy or overbearing way, but in fact kind of the extreme version of myself, where it sounded like she cut all sorts of corners or disobeyed written procedure and for really no good reason, and just all around didn't seem to give a dang about anything. .... This is the person who it looks like I will be switching shifts with 75% of the time once I am ready to go out on my own, and if she is in fact the type lazy enough to just not care how much work she leaves to me every time I have to come in on a shift after her, we are going to have some problems.

... Oh, and, bad news too (this being said half light-heartedly, so no worries. ^_^). There was a pretty girl about my age, who looked almost just like the waitress named Judith I dared to flirt with a few weeks ago and really made my day ^_^, who was working in the lab that first day I came in for the latter afternoon, last Thursday, to just kind of get reacquainted with everyone and the work environment in general before really getting into the training Saturday, and since that was the "D" crew working there at that time, i was hoping I would in fact be able to get to work with her once I am out on my own, but, apparently that was just a fluke she was there that day. Apparently she is on another crew. Too bad. Not only did the combination of glasses, red highlights in jet black hair, and kind of an all-around cool-girl attitude make her quite attractive during our so-far one brief conversation that day, but, I found out she actually had just about the cleanest sense of humor out of everyone there that day. .... Like I said, although half the faces were new, it still felt like coming back to the entirely familiar old crew, where you get the distinct impression that everyone's mentality is somewhere on the level of a pothead teen born around the late 90's or 2000. Hey, again, it would be wrong of me to make this entire thing a serious complaint. This is what I knew subconsciously that I was going right back into when I accepted the job offer. :ahah:

aw you're not alone SK, im working a 12hr tomorrow too, heh will keep that potential knightess in prayers that God would do some "Divine Intervention" for you to meet her again to get to know her if she be the one. *wink *wink *wink

Heh heh. Thanks, Miss S&S. But, she might not be unless the glasses-wearing ponytailed lass is on her way to Ontario in the foreseeable future as well. ^-^

Yup. Will be praying for you to get through your own 12-hour tomorrow as well, S&S. You especially have to stay alert and in good physical standing for your patients, I know. :)

I might play with you some time. I'm not the best at it. I played with Squeakers a few times and tried to create a two-person Bonnie and Clyde tearing up the city, but we ended up killing each other more than anything haha.

It was so much fun though. There are people in there who have access to fighter jets and are shooting missiles. You'd think you were in the middle of Call of Duty instead of GTA lol

We'll have to shoot everyone on this page if they don't join our crime family. You know we don't like witnesses...

I don't have the game. I prefer games where I'm the hero instead of the criminal.

Really? Have you ever played a GTA game before? Probably my favorite series of all time.. plus plenty of nostalgia from my childhood.

I've watched people play it but I never personally played it myself. I played games like Spyro, GUN, Star Wars Episode I, and Bust-A-Move 2.

Oh man, you're missing out. Do you have PS4? We can play some other game.. lol.

Writing an article on anorexia. I was shocked to find out it's the deadliest mental illness. It kills more people than depression or anything else.

Happy Labor Day! :)

My mom and I have been going through some old stuff that had been in storage. We got rid of most of it so far, but there have been a few things we kept. We found a forgotten box of fall/Thanksgiving stuff that we hadn't seen in like 20 years, which was pretty funny! Most of it we didn't care about anymore, but we did find a few good things, like this adorable teddy bear wreath! I tied a piece of yarn to it and hung it up in my room for fall. ^-^

I'm excited to see what other kinds of stuff we might find!

Another nice thing we found was a little clear glass heart-shaped photo frame, which I'm now using as a paperweight to hold down my plushie pattern pieces while I trace them onto fabric. I may even paint it and make it prettier. ^_^
