One more 12-hour day of work before my "weekend". (Yeah, Monday's can be the last day before a weekend or so's worth of time off when you are on a shift schedule.)
Oh, and good news. Sara still seems like "one of us" as she was training me on my first real day in the lab Saturday. She liked to do things by the book, which I am totally fine with as long as you don't forget to see the wood for the trees in the so-doing. She did not appear to look down on me at all like a totally new person whose first time at the rodeo was now.
It was actually another contract employee from Brown and Root like myself who I had to be stuck with training with today who seems a little annoying, while Sara had to tend to another section for the day. >_> Not in the bossy or overbearing way, but in fact kind of the extreme version of myself, where it sounded like she cut all sorts of corners or disobeyed written procedure and for really no good reason, and just all around didn't seem to give a dang about anything. .... This is the person who it looks like I will be switching shifts with 75% of the time once I am ready to go out on my own, and if she is in fact the type lazy enough to just not care how much work she leaves to me every time I have to come in on a shift after her, we are going to have some problems.
... Oh, and, bad news too (this being said half light-heartedly, so no worries.). There was a pretty girl about my age, who looked almost just like the waitress named Judith I dared to flirt with a few weeks ago and really made my day
, who was working in the lab that first day I came in for the latter afternoon, last Thursday, to just kind of get reacquainted with everyone and the work environment in general before really getting into the training Saturday, and since that was the "D" crew working there at that time, i was hoping I would in fact be able to get to work with her once I am out on my own, but, apparently that was just a fluke she was there that day. Apparently she is on another crew. Too bad. Not only did the combination of glasses, red highlights in jet black hair, and kind of an all-around cool-girl attitude make her quite attractive during our so-far one brief conversation that day, but, I found out she actually had just about the cleanest sense of humor out of everyone there that day. .... Like I said, although half the faces were new, it still felt like coming back to the entirely familiar old crew, where you get the distinct impression that everyone's mentality is somewhere on the level of a pothead teen born around the late 90's or 2000. Hey, again, it would be wrong of me to make this entire thing a serious complaint. This is what I knew subconsciously that I was going right back into when I accepted the job offer.
