  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Well, one of the last quality time moments I had with Mama Knight before moving away this Thursday morning (my final trip back to Magnolia, AR) was ... going through Sharknado 4 and 5 together in the den earlier tonight.

And ... just ... wow. I had nothing to do with the Sharknado franchise before tonight outside of seeing the very first film once shortly after it first came on TV (2013, I think it was?). She went to bed somewhere towards the 1/3 mark through Sharknado 5, and the only way I made it through the rest of the fifth movie - which involved portals to other nations located within the tornadoes, and Stonehenge, somehow, mind you - was with a half liter of Malibu coconut rum.

Man, the first movie was one of those "so bad it's good" types, but these two I saw tonight were trying way too hard to be that that it just turned out too crazy to be enjoyable. All the better movie references (like Wizard of Oz and Christine) being subtle as a falling piano and layed on way too frequently to be funny or clever, for one. And Tara Reid became a weaponized anti-shark cyborg as I somehow managed to basically predict before it even happened.

Well, without going into a long spiel all I can say is, if this is the best Tara Reid could do after seemingly becoming washed up with Alone in the Dark fifteen years ago ... then I'm happy for her. At least she'll be remembered likely fondly some way before she dies.

Tallulah is staying with me tonight, also, as a last bit of "quality time" together. And tomorrow night, my last night before permanently moving off, I believe Angel the dachshund from next door will be staying with me. I never thought I would say this when I first moved to Houston at my mother's request three years ago, but, I will actually miss the both of these dogs a lot. If I were confident that Tallulah would be okay staying in a new place alone while I am at work at Albemarle every day soon, and it weren't against the Chateau Apartment rules to have pets (although I doubt Ms. Pinner really checks often to see that her rules are being followed anymore these days, seeing as she is 80 years old), I would actually take Tallulah with me. Maybe I should try a rabbit in a cage or some goldfish?
Oh, you're still in the states? I thought you moved to Mongolia in Asia :D :D

Well I went to Japan for the second time in my life. Now I'm back from the future. I had a pretty good time, learned some life leasons. I liked everything except the weather.
It's summer in Japan and it's humid. The type of weather I hate. I don't mind hot wheather. It's humidity I can't stand.
There were vending machines everywhere, just like I remember. Seven Elevens like every ten meters. Train stations are like mazes, and the people.... So many people. Thanos would have a panic attack if he came to Japan.
I also had a fun time playing "Spot the foreigner". I saw quite a lot of foreigners there. Some stand out more than others.
I also got food poisoning and had a fever the next day. I was sick for a couple of days and spent my birthday in the apartment, but I felt better by the afternoon and we went out and ate by a river, so it wasn't too bad. At least I spent my bithday in Japan, an amazing place that's at least ten years in the future. I would go again, but this time in winter.

Oh, that's what you meant by "now I'm back from the future". Like, figure of speech. At first I thought you were just making a lame movie reference, and it turned out you never actually went to another country at all. ^_^

Speaking of which, Mr. Moe, how are you doing lately? You know, since you made that post opening up on a lot of things about yourself a few weeks ago. If I may ask.

More Things I Learned While In Japan.

. Japan is called Nippon in Japanese.
. If it swims in the ocean and you can catch it, the Japanese have probably eaten it.
. Trying to find a bin is like trying to find a rare Pokemon.
. There's a resturaunt called Hotto Motto
. There are more people walking and on bikes than in cars.
. Books stores will have their store name in english despite none of the books inside the store being in english.
. There's more variety on one shelve in Japan than an entire store in Australia.
. Pizza Hut is better in Japan.
. Everything is better in Japan.
. I still hate flying.

I'm feeling better since I got back from Japan since I got to see my brother there and I don't get to see him a lot. He gave me a reality check and told me some hard truths about myself. Most of my life has been ruled by fear, worry and axiety and that something that has stopped me from really living life. It's something I need to overcome If I want to really live a fufilled life. These things are hard to hear but I needed to hear them.

Is it one of those bags that’s mostly air, or is it actually full of chips? :tonguewink:

There's no beating being young instead of old, which I assume was the alternative you speak of.
No, death was actually the alternative. Growing old, just as death is inevitable.

If you aren't growing old, you're dead. Even the new born is growing old. The moment we are born we begin to die, just takes time.

I said in "some ways" because while being alive is good, it means we are not home and home is better.

As far as young and old however....... I would trade this old body for my young body...... but Id never trade the wisdom I've gained in my age for my young "knowledge". It took growing older (Im stuck in the age limbo..... Im too old to be young, to young to be truly old) but I am old enough to understand the "Youth is wasted on the young" adage.

I understood the premise in my youth, but not the truth in its words til later. Kind of like the difference between accepting something as truth in your mind and accepting a truth in your heart.

I'd rather talk about getting old. ^_^

30 isn't old. :mmh: I don't think any of you in Singles are old.

Maybe I should try a rabbit in a cage or some goldfish?
