Today I was pondering how would Christians define sacrifice as opposed to the non-believers/unsaved/lost/pagan/the world's version of sacrifice. We all have to make sacrifices, so there must be a difference

Tonight I am glad I didn't get married. You really, really, really have to follow the mainline patterns of the world to be married.

Notices were sent out to SNAP recipients that they may not receive benefits in November if the shutdown isn’t resolved by October 31st. Many are celebrating under the assumption the majority are freeloaders. But there are many seniors, disabled persons and children impacted too. Additional casualties include WIC which provides formula and food for infants and the school lunch program.

Please remember the needy in prayer and seek justice on their behalf and correction for your brethren delighting in their suffering. For children of God to revel in such wickedness is unconscionable. You can use the scripture below concerning the shutdown if needed.

Behold, the [wicked and irreverent] man is pregnant with sin, and he conceives mischief and gives birth to lies. He has dug a pit and hollowed it out, and has fallen into the [very] pit which he made [as a trap]. His mischief will return on his own head, and his violence will come down on the top of his head [like loose dirt]. That's what makes them such effective hostages. Good people don't want to see the elderly or helpless go hungry.
But to use Government shutdown to force the elderly and the helpless to go hungry, when a "Clean CR" is on the table, because they want to add a laundry list of things that the majority of people democratically voted against. If people are concerned, then they need to call their local reps and tell them to vote for the clean CR and open the Government back up, and work on passing bills through Congress and Senate for their wish lists. Not using the weak and elderly as hostages to force what they want down our throats.

There is no such thing as red and blue or democrat and republican. The illusion of the pair prevents citizens from focusing on the differences that should have their attention. In my professional experience, individuals with resources along the lines cited in the tracker are usually focused on increasing their wealth and building connections to do the same. They don’t represent the common man.

I provided a breakdown of the initiatives from The Heritage Foundation which weren’t included in the Project 2025 Mandate. Although the post focused on social security, disability and veterans benefits. The bulk of the suggestions aren’t in the favor of ordinary citizens but changes were implemented to aid the wealthy and our congregational leaders will benefit.

If the average person lives to be 80 or more you have 60 years to learn. Make a curriculum and fill in the gaps.

I wish I was more an evangelist. It's hard being an evangelist when you're more introverted. I have the passion.

That is not me tho. I am more a discipler, I want someone to be deep, not shallow. The evangelists can help plant it, I will help water it so it doesn't stay a seed.

The Bible teaches we all have different talents & the Bible teaches we can all 'evangelize' in what we do.

Here's something grateful: When I first started my job, I didn't think I'd make it. It came after a couple jobs I didn't make it at. I've been here a long time now. It wasn't worth the concern. But maybe it was a little bit, otherwise you wouldn't have tried as hard.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention, Miss Bella. I didn't even think about how the shutdown might impact things like that. I pray for many daily, and I should remember the needy in this case as well.

Thank you SK. I hope you’re well.

This is a difficult period in our nation and christians have an opportunity to be of aid and remembered for our kindness.

Hopefully the NBA cheating scandal will enlighten the diehard sporting fans among us. This isn’t an isolated incident and it’s a well-known problem. We used to be fans but that began to shift because my daughter was a competitive athlete. One of the reasons I took her out of gymnastics was due to the unfair judging practices levied against American gymnasts at international meets. There were similar issues with figure skating too and they each had scandals at the olympics.

Our turning point was largely due to golf and reinforced at the derby and finalized during the playoffs with golden state. It was the master’s tournament and we were watching Tiger and I noticed his shirt immediately. It was a pastel hue and I kept saying he doesn’t wear that color. That might seem minor but we’ve been watching him since his Stanford days and he has a uniform. Lo and behold the others in the group are wearing the same hue which was odd. As they neared the turn I told my daughter he’s going to win. It’s already been decided. This was the Saturday round and shortly after they began to fall apart and he won as I predicted.

This was an odd year. There was a controversial call at the derby and the win was given to another. There were similar results with golden state and I knew they were playing bad on purpose. That may sound conspiratorial until you consider the gambling factor and how much is put on the games. There’s a lot of money to be made and it isn’t difficult to throw a match or miss hit a ball when you do it professionally.

The timing of the bust is interesting in light of the release of the movie Him. The gist of the film is the same. Professional athletes aren’t selected based on talent alone. They’re chosen well in advance. What you’re watching isn’t necessarily the best there is. But the people they’ve selected to entertain the viewers who agreed to their terms. The movie explains the price you pay and what the goat entails. It isn’t what you’d assume.

Sports is the biggest distraction that exists outside of the internet and gaming. It’s the modern form of bread and circuses the romans employed. You can’t have an engaged population if you want an inequitable society. You have to put them sleep to direct their mind away from their circumstances until you condition them to accept it.

I wouldn't worry too much about that. I think most people already know what Christians believe, and they make a conscious choice not to buy in on their own. If they're not ready to listen or accept the message, I wouldn't try to force it on them.

That's a really big reason it makes it hard. It's like most people probably already know it.
