One of them was like, we need to hook you up. (I am sure they meant that term in a generally romantic sense, and not a sexual one, of course, otherwise I would have been a lot more squicked out by the situation. ) This almost seems like the kind of quirky situation for a hopeless romantic like myself that would only happen on TV, actually. ^-^

I met this lady by sheer chance today at the chiropractor clinic! I was certain we had all forgotten about this intended set up from several months ago, but there she was, wandering in, so innocent and unassuming, for an appointment as I was waiting patiently to be checked out. I heard her banter with Latanya at the desk and glanced up, recognizing her face right away. .... Somehow that was enough for me to start feeling a bit flustered and warm in the face.

On my way out the door, I at least retained enough presence of mind to smile politely at her and say, "nice to meet you officially, Sally." =)

Lord only knows what the desk lady who first tried to bring us together, Latanya, was saying to Miss Sally as way of teasing her about me after I had left. (Especially after giving me the scandalous look and nodding over at her while my back was turned to her as Latanya was printing up my receipt and setting up the next appointment and all. I replied with a silent look of my own that I am sure clearly said "oh, i definitely know that that is her; why do you think my face is so red right now?" ) Probably all like, "that was him! That was Will!" ^-^

I was not at all expecting to ever run into her in person.

I finally left my church today. It was really difficult to do and I'm incredibly hurt, but this was the last straw.

I'm sorry you were so unhappy there. Hopefully, you'll find somewhere else that is preferable.

You might think that I'd have lots of energy, now that my schedule isn't as full, but I'm mostly relaxing and enjoying the lack of deadlines. It will be nice to just focus on my personal projects and my day job for a while.

That's amazing brother! Congrats! (Sorry I missed this earlier)

Thanks! I'm going to my friend's church this weekend but seriously considering starting my own house church or bible study.

I thought about the same. We left before the scandal broke at our previous church and waited for direction from the Lord. I explored a few denominations while here and thought a house church fit the bill.

But now that we’re looking to homestead I’m gaining clarity. I’d like a chapel on the property for familial worship. And I want to be part of a community too. There’s a Mennonite church in the area we’re looking at. That isn’t coincidental. He’s putting it all together.

Why don’t you start with a study and see how it goes. It will be easier to grow a fellowship through that method and you’d have time together to draw from.

That is what we're doing. There is interest from others who left the church and we are thinking about maybe Saturday nights to see how it goes for a bit.

I didn't know the Mennonites accept converts. I learn something new everyday!

Yes, of course, Riley. I would not have imagined something like this, but if a desire for alcohol has become that dangerous or out of control for you, then we must pray at the very least for the Lord to help you.
