That’s quite a spread. Are you able to grow three seasons? Do you process the excess, freeze or give it away?

I usually can grow spring, summer, fall. I missed the spring season this year. I give some to my elderly neighbors and freeze a bunch. I'm going to see what I can do with a dehydrator this year. I'm wondering how green beans might work dehydrated.

I like the idea of woodland but value visibility. I’d always wonder what’s out there. Do you encounter wildlife often?

We have a lot of wildlife. A family of deer come through every morning and evening, same time and same path. We also have turkeys, rabbits, squirrels, possums, raccoons, and foxes. We have bear around, but I haven't seen one on the property.

That’s nice of you. Gardening can be challenging for seniors unless they’ve done it for a long time or have help. I’m sure they appreciate your gifts.

Dehydrating frees up freezer space and gives you long-term storage if you put it away in mylar bags. You can get really creative too. I’m making my own tea blends with a combination of dried fruit, herbs and flowers. I did sliced citrus a few months ago. It looks pretty but its a messy job!

If you plan to work with onion or garlic pick up an extra set of tray inserts. You can use parchment paper but the inserts are less expensive in the long run.

Quite a few would supplement the diet if hunting is your forte. Thankfully the bears aren’t troublesome.

Thought you might like to know, @bèlla , since at the time you had made a seemingly coy suggestion about getting to know the "Miss Rachel" described in this old post better, that I am still going to this nice and quaint little spa for various treatments on occasion. It's a good thing that I never tried to flirt with her ... as I learned in natural conversation today that she's been married for at least five years with one child.

When all the ladies there found out it was my birthday today, they were gracious in wishing me well and lowered the price of the treatment I received there today. I was perhaps a bit too hasty in assuring them that, like, I promise I hadn't purposefully made that appointment with them specifically for today because I am one of those people who hates birthdays because they are reminding him or her of age, or am suffering a mid-life crisis. No, no, on the contrary, I am always happy on these days.
(And they couldn't believe I was in my thirties at all, much less 38, so they said today ... although I'm pretty sure that at some point in the last year or so of being a frequent customer they had to have learned of my age somehow already. It was probably an innocent bit of flattery in hopes that would further convince me to keep seeing them and bringing in business, buuuut I'm sure it was well-meaning. )

Also, meant to post this when I got out of work this morning before going to bed ^-^:

Actually I didn't even remember that it was my birthday today until about 3 in the morning at work. And right there in the hall as a coworker, Matt, walked by me on his way to go sleep in one of the offices (we're on a plantwide shutdown now, so I have an easy schedule over the next few nights of work just finding various ways to tidy up the lab and its surrounding environment), it just hit me and I said aloud, "hey, I just realize I turned 38 a few hours ago."

Matt goes, "really? Well, crap, dude, happy birthday!"

My anxiety is still through the roof. I hate having so much anxiety 24/7. May God forgive me for not trusting him more.

A small deed of grace not deserving of such a magnitude of thanks, sir, but, I am glad it seemed to be of such help. *salutes*

Please try to get to sleep now.

Definitely need to start losing weight again.
This is an area where I am fairly educated. What is your plan? If you would like to share it with me, here or in private, I would be more than willing to give you feedback and maybe some suggestions that you'll find fun and easy.
