Agreed, Ms. Multi. We are instructed to give God our burdens / fears, and He gives us His peace in return. No matter what we're facing, we can be in a state of peace and joy through faith in Christ, which can be as solid as a rock that doesn't budge.
Well said!

Does that make me Multilearns? o_O

Yes, it's best to try to be kind and loving towards people...treat them like you'd want them to treat you, as Jesus said in the Bible. Who are we to judge? God is the true Judge.

If you want people to be nice to you, be nice to them. If you want people to respect you and your beliefs, respect them and their beliefs. If you want to feel welcomed and included, welcome others and include them.

OMM: Something I have learned since joining CF is that when you're unhappy or worried about something, instead of just sitting in your misery it's better to pray about it (though I still need to improve on this). And when you're happy or something good happens it's always a good idea to be thankful to the Lord!
WOYM? Hypocrites and rude CF members

I have tried to let it roll off my back, but it actually drives me crazy. People pointing their finger and being condescending towards people on this site. Calling them sinners, and then proceeding to being unnecessarily rude towards them. Or just acting as though they are an authority on the issue because they are high, mighty and aren't suffering with the same affliction. Often they are literally bathing in the same water whilst telling the other person how wretched they are.

Yes, I am being somewhat of a hypocrite myself by ranting rudely about these people. BUT maybe I can turn this into a positive.

When you feel less than, when you feel embarrassed, sinful and judged remember that often the other person sitting behind the screen is just as marked as you. They just aren't being as transparent.

We are all sinners and require saving. You. Me. And the high and mighty user who made a snippy comment towards you.

John 8:7
So when they continued asking him, he lifted up himself, and said unto them, He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her.

/end rant

The thing that gets me the most is that I have to *earn* respect and yet I'm expected to show others respect or else I get consequences.

So which is? Do we show each other respect as what Jesus taught us or do we have to earn each other's respect based on doing things with our gifts and talents that God gave us out of GRACE, not merit, for HIS glory, not ours?

Hypocrisy is the most effective way of destroying an ideology.

I honestly can't tell if this is brilliant for being the most credentialed man in history or sad for being a perpetual student...

Well I like to think the former ....

Had a great birthday yesterday! I had to work, but I only worked until 2:30pm...got home, took a nice hot shower, and went out to dinner with a very close friend. Awesome dinner, followed by ice cream cake with some friends back at my place...once they left, I got to play some online games with a buddy right up until I went to bed.
I got a few nice gifts, too...one including a co-worker of mine getting me a gift card for our store. I was so thankful, I was in tears.

Best birthday so far. :sohappy: :ueee:

@Multifavs You can draw, write, sew, and know how to make people feel good. According to Howard Gardner, you have multiple intelligences; Visual/Spatial, Verbal/Linguistic, Bodily/Kinaesthetic, and Interpersonal intelligence, respectively.

I dub thee Multi-Intelligence.

Hey, I can kinda sew. Can I be uni-intelligence? That would be a win for me.

I couldn't sew anything to save my life. Lol. I'm the chick who brings her shirt with a missing button to her mother to sew back on.

My mother once tried to get me into a sewing class when I was a teenager. I put the kabosh on that one.

I can sew on a button, well enough that it stays on after I've finished with it, but that's the extent of my sewing skills. Fortunately, it only seems to happen with older shirts that could do with replacing, so the missing button can sometimes serve as a means to get me to buy a new shirt, as clothes shopping is one of those things I try to put off as much as possible.

Maybe sewing comes more naturally to some people than others? Or maybe it just depends on how interested you are in it.

I wanted to learn to sew since I was a kid, since I loved stuffed animals I wanted to make some of my characters (funny that now I know how but haven't made very many of my characters). My mom and dad knew how to sew but for some reason I never asked them to teach me. Someone else taught me to hand-sew when I was 18, and I've been machine-sewing since last summer.

Both hand-sewing and machine-sewing seemed difficult at first and I wasn't very good, but I got the hang of it and now I'm much better. It takes practice and learning! The kind of sad thing is it took me over three years to figure out how to do a proper ladder stitch.

That's very cool, though! Multiintelligence. :satisfied: I also can make music. :)

Well, it's settled then. You can expect a package from me in the next week of all my shirts missing buttons for you to sew back on.

Okay, but on serious note, I get you. I do the same thing with shopping. If I shop it's because I need new things, or I know that particular store is having some really good deals, so I'll take advantage of that. Otherwise, yeah...my closet is rather sparse.

Ladder stitch? Sewing by hand? Machine? Practice?

Okay. This is why nudist colonies exist. For all the people whose buttons fall off and they're too much of a cheapskate to buy new clothes and they refuse to learn to sew, and that's probably because they're too cheap to buy the supplies. Lol

(Seriously though, it probably is what you said, that it comes more naturally to others. Most likely to those who are actually interested in it, like you are. :) I was (and still am) just too much of a tomboy to care to ever learn.)

You wear those shirts that have buttons in the middle of the back, right?

I tend to not even bother with the really good deals. Not that I won't take advantage of them if I come across them, but I don't make a particular effort to seek them out.

My clothes-buying reluctance also stems from being tall and skinny, as that appears to not be a body type that's catered for as much as others. Clothes seem to get wider quicker than they get longer as sizes go up, jeans with longer than normal legs are in short supply, and shoes my size are even rarer. So buying new clothes is an ordeal I try to put off as much as possible.

I was interested in sewing when I was really little. I made a cat stuffed animal for my grandma when I was like 6 years old.
When I was in like 7th or 8th grade (home schooled), my mom said I had to take "home economics"... so I just found the coolest pattern of dolphins and made a pillow case with her sewing machine.... and that's all she could make me do. :p
I think sewing is cool now, but sewing machines seem complicated to learn how to use. But I wouldn't mind learning now.

The problem with nudist colonies is that they don't offer much in the way of employment opportunities. So you'd still need to work outside of the colony, which requires clothes.
