OMM: I have often wondered why a group of Christians can go through the same experience and come out very differently. Some come out thankful and others bitter. Some come through stronger while others abandon the faith. It makes me wonder...what makes the difference?

It is very interesting.

I have two cousins, one is male and the other is female. Both lost their fathers. One to an accident and the other to cancer. Both have dealt with some anger in the beginning, but now years later one has grown into a happier, kinder person who has chosen peace, whereas the other gets bitter and more resentful of not having a father figure in their life with each passing year. Both come from loving Christian homes.

Well, I didn't say any of that to make people feel guilty. It's just something I've pondered over the years and then it popped back into my mind about a month ago.

Oh no, it's just how I relate to what you said. It's something that is on my mind pretty often because of my own experience. It is really fascinating to look at why people process the same experience differently from others. The psychology nerd in me loves it.

I think it would be interesting for someone to do a study but I am not sure it is something that can be properly studied. There are probably a lot of variables in play with the outcome. It just makes me wonder.

I believe faith makes all the difference. Some possess great faith and some have faith the size of a mustard seed. All of us are empowered by the Holy Spirit to have faith and to grow, but submission to God and His will is where our faith gets tested and proved.

We went too world buffet tonight, it was nice to hang out.

I found out that for the first part of my English paper I got 23/30. Which is amazing! Teacher said I should defo get a A which I wanted to cry!!!

This is something I struggle with. It's like God deliberately made some for success while making some destined for failure. I know autistics are generally less religious than their neurotypical peers because we see things more in black and white, literally, logical, as well as being so poorly treated that we have a harder time believing in a just and loving God because of the way He made us compared to His other creations who tend to get it better than we do.

I almost believe that each person in made in God's image to differing degrees. The closer you are to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual perfection, the more in God's image you are made in. Recently, I read more and more how genes can influence things like our brain structure, our sexuality, our impulsiveness, and even our spirituality. It's like God gave some an unfair advantage in His race like Billy Graham while it's a "sucks to be you" kind of thing for someone like me. We tend to call this original sin and it seems to affect people to varying degrees. This combined with the science we have now, I'm starting to believe that maybe eugenicists have a point in getting rid of certain undesirables from the gene pool.

Heck, I wasn't even looking for support this time. I just wanted to add my two cents to Travelers.Soul's post. I believe some people do have an unfair advantage in their walk with God based on how well God makes them or what kind of life He chooses for them.

I was fortunate to still have my faith in God thanks to the progress in Bible prophecy I've been seeing for years showing me that God can still be trusted in spite of my own anger, doubts, and fears towards Him.

We can either give each other loving support and help them grow in Christ or we can beat each other down until one of us loses faith in God because His followers were no different than the world's way of life which they claim to strive against.

Tbh, everyone just needs to calmly start reporting every blatant jerkface post he makes towards other members. A lot of them will receive repercussions, if not bans, and eventually that will get old and he'll either stop or leave CF.

Clearly pointing out how rude and unkind he is towards fellow Singles members, even in the most loving way possible, does not work.
