CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I felt that same way. I went to see my grandmother every Sunday since I was little and then all of a sudden she wasn't there anymore. It seemed very empty for a long time and almost like there was no sense of purpose anymore.Thank you

I was ok like when she died and stuff and now it has hit me, like i was washing up and i thought am
never going to see her again (In this world) and it was painful.
I was left her charm bracelet, everytime grandad worked away from home, he would bring her back a charm.
I don't know my life seems to have came to a point.
It does get better and the pain will subside, but it will feel odd and empty for a while. I only just had the ability a few weeks ago to go through old photographs without feeling strange and sad.

Yep the same. Growing up i was always at my grandparents. It was actually my grandmother and grandfather who took me to Mass every sunday.
Even when i moved she would phone me up, though she be like is it ok to ring because the boys were babies, but I loved it.
Yeah it does feel odd, because also it was christmas day and we were in tenerife and we could only get a flight back the friday and by the time we came back , we couldn't get to see her because of christmas and new year, and it seemed to happened really quickly and it was all werid, like we couldn't bring her home (Its a irish thing, you bring them home) and we couldn't get flowers, she couldn't be butired with my grandfather because their was a mix up with the grave, so she had to get cremated (We are putting her ashes in the grave, which is allowed within the catholic church, some members of the family were worried over this, you arent allowed to keep or scatter them but they are to put in a sacred place)

Wow, you learn something new every day.
I had no idea that some of the passengers on the Titanic were actually watching "The Poseidon Adventure" when the Titanic struck the iceberg.
Not only was there the story published about a ship like the Titanic named Titan that went down the same way and people died for the same reason...I knew about that.. but to be watching a show about a boat going down..... wow. (of course it wasn't a movie like we watch now but still... wow). Supposedly at least.

Ah that dance! My mom and I used to do that when I was really young. Although thinking back, I think it was probably her way of getting me to go to bed. Because she'd carry me off at the end.
So much fun though!

You were lucky. I never had a close relationship with any of my grandparents because one died when my mom was a teen and the other three lived on the other side of the country. I only got to visit them once every several years.
It pains me that they will eventually die and I barely knew them that well.

Pretty much the same.. 3/4 of my grandparents were dead by the time I was around 9.. the last one died about a month ago.. although only met her once in my life.
