Systema was awesome last night. We had this one drill where one person was on the ground and two others were circling with punch pads so the guy on the ground can strike at different angles while moving, it was fun.

OMM: People who trash criminals on Facebook (and especially those who will go to their Facebook page and harass them) and say awful, dehumanizing things about them are no better than the criminals themselves, and are, I would argue, the scum of the earth moreso than what they say the criminals are.

I understand a desire for justice and even being incensed at senseless or vicious crimes, but the lynch mob mentality is rarely a good thing and usually leads to more violence.

OMM: I just want to apologize that I'm not here often now that I'm back... Work wears me out to no end... Working as a full time cashier in retail this time a year... Whew! I come home, play on Facebook, eat dinner and crawl into bed just to do the same thing again the next day! ...I was supposed to be off today and tomorrow but now I'm off today and work 2:30-11 in our gas station tomorrow, 9:15-5:45 in the store on Friday and off Saturday and Sunday... If I can, I'll pop in more on Saturday.... Also, I'm sorry I never got votes in for the Christmas thing...

Well, I had another strange dream related to CF last night.

I got up in the morning and went to check CF as usual, but instead of checking the computer I instead used the Advent calendar I made (which is up on the wall). Strangely the Advent calendar showed my alerts and PMs at the top like CF does. Even after being offline for hours I had no alerts, but I did have 3 PMs. I looked at them expecting them to be the ones I've been talking in recently, but instead they were actually boxes of paintable figures some toy companies had sent me!

After that it was suddenly dinnertime, and I was eating turkey and some kind of muffin, and I think something else that I can't remember. My dad came up to me and gave me a bunch of pork or something so I was eating that too, and I was worried that I was going to eat too much.

As a full time cashier, probably not. LOL! Thankfully our company closes at 7PM Christmas Eve and open again 6AM day after Christmas... The only day of the year we close! But thank you!

There's a commercial that uses the analogy "If you only wanted 1 piece of pie why would you want to buy the whole pie" basically saying if you want only a little bit, why do you have to buy the whole thing just to have a little. It's about a phone company that wants you to buy all this stuff, but you only want small minutes and data.

Anyhow I feel this is a terrible analogy because I always say when they say "If you only want a piece of pie, why buy the whole pie?" "Because you want to eat the rest of the pie later, duhhh!"

Yeah. People like to find someone whose "less on the scale of worth" and shoot off their sharpened arrows at them and condemn them. They choose to do so with people who've committed crimes because society views criminals and "excons" as 4th class citizens and the large majority of people condemn them too, so the person feels it's free game and fresh meat.
Self righteousness at it's finest.

The ironic thing is that more of these people who've committed crimes will find Jesus and be saved over those who condemn them. Jesus came to save sinners, not the righteous - and many people regret what they've done in jail, want to go home and seek forgivenese from God. They are able to recognize their sins more clearly than the unmerciful, hate filled, self righteous mob. Blessed are the merciful for they will recieve mercy.

We are definitely on the same wavelength on this. I know multiple people who have committed serious crimes years ago who got help and turned their life around when crap hit the fan. But it is still difficult for them to see what people will say about others who have recently committed similar crimes because in their eyes those things are being said about them as well.

Last night I came across an article about a guy who I knew from a church I used to attend who was arrested for committing a very serious crime. A few folks took the liberty of hopping on over to his Facebook page and making jokes...let's just say about things that were going to happen to him in prison. One guy spent who knows how long commenting on probably 15 different statuses. It was unfortunate for the guy who got arrested that he had his profile open to public comments. I called a friend from church because I didn't want to just ruminate on the angry feelings or say something stupid in response to these people, and he suggested that I report those things on Facebook. So I spent about a half hour reporting a few dozen or so comments that people had left. And then I noticed this morning that mercifully his account had been deactivated.

I will never defend someone's actions when they commit a serious crime, but I will always take issue with people suggesting that they deserve all manner of horrible things because of what they did. If those people were getting what they really deserve, they wouldn't be laughing.

It hasn't been easy starting my own business or getting to where I am today. I have my moments of failure and triumph. The main thing I can hold my head up high about is that I've never given up. Never. The only thing that matters is where I'm going.

For the moment, I'm going to enjoy the journey. I'll stop and smell the roses. I'll trust God and get through whatever obstacle anyone wants to throw my way.
