I've noticed this too; creativity in general seems to be dying out. That's probably why there's been so many sequels and reboots lately.After thousands of years of story telling and over a century of cinema, we were bound to run out of fresh ideas sooner or later. Heck, my parent's, grandparent's, and great grandparent's days had all the best idea. Our day just has all the best special effects.
Yeah, I miss the days when they were animated by hand using celluloids. Shows today are cheap (made using flash), fast-paced, obnoxious (just to try to get laughs), and have no heart. They don't teach or reinforce values, and they seem to take no skill to make anymore.Speaking of animation, I hate how most modern cartoons on television are done in flash. Makes them look incredibly cheap like card board cut outs.
Flash can be quite impressive though. I remember watching the revived, final season of Samurai Jack, and there were some moments which were simply breathtaking:
