  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

Why do people keep calling us a Democracy when we are not a Democracy. The United States of America is a Republic. We the people do not vote on most of our laws but we vote for people to go and vote for us.

We do not want a majority or mob rule system. Our founding fathers spent lots of time in prayer asking what is the best way and God gave them this system. Our government is loosely based on the old English Methodist governing body and it works better than any system ever produced. Our system is not broke but the people are. Instead of reading the Bible in the evening like people of the past did we are setting in the living room watching honey boo boo and Gas Monkey Garage.

Our system reflexs the morals of the people and that is why our pool to vote from is so worthelss because that is where our morals are at.

No, our system is not broke. It is the greatest system to ever be on earth and the reason all the world wants to be like us. The problem with our country is the people no longer are one and we no longer share the same basic beliefs like most all Americans did in the past.

So what if I like Gas Monkey Garage? Doesn't mean I broke the system. You all would be better off for it too. I swear some people don't know a good deal when they see one.

P.s. IT'S FAST N' LOUD -_-

I also like Gas Monkey Garage and I watch it often and I will admit I am part of the problem, I do not do enough as God wants me to.

We are in the 3rd generation of disobedience to God our Father and we are now seriously feeling the effects of 3 generations of rebellion.

We have hit a point of no return and I pray that Jesus returns soon so we can have peace and happiness.

Romney did not WIN the popular vote!!!!!!!!

Obama WON the popular vote in 2012

I know how the system works we do American politics at uni a lot of our lectures have worked in American colleges or we have American lectures...
No, Romney did win the popular vote as of the calling of the election. Not sure why Wikipedia says elsewise, but that is not correct.

Anyway, I thought you were wondering why the system worked the way it did which is why I bothered to explain it, but I see you're already informed, so not sure why you asked in the first place.

Agreed, Wiki can be edited by anyone, so it is not credible, source wise

I also agree. When using Wikipedia, it's best to check the sources behind each bit of information. Otherwise, you could look up an article about Nazism and see a section about the benefits of such a ideology added by some boob from Storm Front.

That's why a lot of educational institutions will not allow their students to use Wikipedia as a source. We couldn't when we had to write papers.

This a government website that shows Obama got more votes than Romeny
Unless I am completely losing my mind the only time some has won the popular vote but not the election is 2016, 2000, 1873

and wiki is correct, yes you can edit wiki but they have staff who double check the

and here

I can product more if you like THAT OBAMA WON THE POPULAR VOTE.... seriously....

and I didn't ask how the system work, I was stating that in terms of democracy, the vote of the people, the system doesn't work sometimes and that the systems time failed democracy

Still, Wiki is not accepted in most cases when looking for resources. That's not to say one can't use it, one can but using other credible sources as well.

But that is besides the point of the rant.

OMM: So I've started a 30 day exercise program, and added in some yoga and some 15 min wheeling around. I'm on Day 4 so far. What's on my mind really is that I'm in a wheelchair and so it's harder to lose weight, or it seems like it is, because so many exercises are geared for someone who has the use of their legs. The yoga I am following, I have to basically substitute some moves for others I can do. But more so, I really want to finish these 30 days and say that Idid because my will power has never been all that good. I just want to accomplish something and feel good about myself. :) I don't expect to lose 100lbs or anything, but I would like to get back into shape and not get out of breath going up to the mailbox, lol.

You're right :) it is a forum. I was more speaking for those who have to write essays and more as an informative about the unfactualness Wiki can carry due to its editing purposes.

It's okay, but you wouldn't get away with using Wiki at university level. Not in a month of Sundays. A savvy grader would clock it immediately - I certainly never got away with it, just at HE level.

I suppose it does depend on where one resides. But otherwise, yes that is correct which is why I stated that one can't use it as a stand-alone :)

The reason for the protest is because we live in a generation of rebellion and the places these protest are happening is are in the blue states.

This is not the first time that the silent majority won an election. Back during the Vietnam war most of America was the silent majority but it was the loud minority that people believed we were because the liberal media made us look that way.

I believe another reason Trump won is because we are tired of the media telling us who is winning weeks before we vote. We are tired of the loud minority ruling over the silent majority.
