  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

The problem is, portraying to someone their way of life is hazordous is very difficult, until they are threatened with an idea of desparity.
Humans are so great at creating delusions to justify emptiness. Ignorance is bliss, and all that.
However, in my experience, there is nothing like a dramatic and/or traumatic situation to open someone's eyes. Learning the 'hard way'.

The only thing we can do is find a way to show what true Love is like, and hope it gets past their stubborn pride.
I know. Sometimes we have to learn the hard way. I just hate to see them suffer.

Another problem I find is, no matter how serious my heart is to follow what is right, my fleshly desires are constantly creeping in the back ground. It is a difficult thing to shake.

I strive to follow love, yet I feel weighed down by a ton of shame and regret.

It is comforting the idea that God will forgive me everytime I slip, yet I constantly dissapoint myself. I can't imagine how he feels.

You have a kind heart. :)
Perhaps that will become a much needed light for your friend.

If there were easy answers to that kind of things, I am sure the world would look much different than it does now.

I like to think that God is more capable of being understanding and merciful than any human parent is, and if you think of how much people can love their children (as a parent yourself, you probably have a better idea of this than I do) and be understanding for them when they f.e. are being clumsy when they learn to walk, that should give some idea about Gods heart for his children.

No worries, just being a bit melodramatic. Lol.

That is a good way to describe it, Mr. Spades.
It is a little weird to think about God as a father figure, but it does help put things in a perspective.

Well the good news for me is that I can always hide behind my "I'm a foreigner from different culture" - favorite excuse, so I don't have to admit that I'm a social idiot who just can't get it right what people mean ;)

Yes it's not totally same of course, Ms. Rose. But I think I have personally had some rare moments, when I have seen reflections of God's love and understanding in how some people behave when they're having their best moments with other people.

You know, I think you understand a lot more than you let on, as well as, a lot more than most 'commoners' over here in their 'native land'. Haha.

So I will never accept that excuse. :)

Of course. Unlike most men, when God promises to stay, he means it, yes? ;)

That sounds like a beautiful experience to have, my friend.

OMM: What is the "normal" when it comes to portion control?

I mean I know women get by on just twigs and such..... but for a man... what is the "normal" healthy portion control level? I mean I can eat burger and fries and still eat.

I hear people "Im full after 4 tacos" but..... come on I knock out 2-3 times that..... :|

Going from one meal a day to multiple small ones through the day is an adjustment for sure.

Really world?! Really?!

"Sitting is the new smoking" :|

I JUST quit smoking and now you tell me I can't sit anymore now. :|

Just remember you're human. You have sexual drives and desires, and I think the Almighty understands that. :)

Hmm, so if you're never going to accept my foreigner- excuse, does that mean the only option left is to rate myself as a social idiot? :mmh:

Yes, yes, i got it. And it is very amazing how you're always full of kind words, appreciated! :)

Of course. Unlike most men, when God promises to stay, he means it, yes? ;)

That would be nice of God.. ;)

Then in that case I must be a chain sitter, going through a chair a day.

Just wait until the antisitter campaigns come after you and ban public sitting cause even while outdoors..... second hand sit is 10 times worse.

You will say "I'm a sitter" and people will treat you like a leper.

This is going to make me downright irritable.

I'll be back. I need a sit break.

We're all with you there, Miss Brianna. Just hang in there. God will always follow through in keeping us held in His merciful hands, even when we fail to try to stay in them ourselves.:)
