• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's on your mind?

I will never understand the appeal of NY. I've been there and I must be immune to "the magic" of the place.

I have nothing against NY, however... too many buildings. I am neither a country nor city boy (Im a mix of both).
Im somewhere in between. I DO however need a horizon line.... not feeling like a rat in a maze.

Wanna see something other than the buildings surrounding you. Look up at the sky or down at the sidewalk. Wasn't my thing.

I like Chicago better actually. But NYC wasn't my idea, I'm just tagging along because I love traveling. If I had been picking the destination I probably would have chosen something else.

I haven't watched wrestling in over six months so please excuse my ignorance, but is Seth Rollins still carrying around that briefcase everywhere he goes?

No...Rollins cashed it in at Mania and won the title. He's the champ now.

I don't mean to be rude, but do the members of Ethics and Morality have ANY sense of humour at all? It's honestly like hanging out in hades with that lot.

Have you ever been in the Theology area, that one is worse.

I've never posted in there, but read a few threads. It's scary:( At first, I ended up posting in a sub forum in the formal debate section. I soon realized that I might not enjoy CF as much as I thought I would.

Yeah, it's not a good place.

I can handle very intense discussions. I am somewhat of a passionate personality type, but I really dislike when a person can't stick to discussing the facts. Nothing is more frustrating to me than a person who purposely misquotes or paraphrases his opponent's position to gain the upper hand. At that point, it's best just to leave the debate.

So it appears that my book sales have finally stalled. Haven't had one in over two weeks now. It was published last August, so it made it almost a year. That's a pretty good run. Now I have to pump out the next one :D

I wouldn't know. I just heard from everyone else it's not as fun as they anticipated lol

It's really more "You think it's going to the best, most special thing ever, when it's not."

I'm going to have to sift through some of these forums and take a look. To be honest, the amount of forums on offer here truly baffles me. I've said before that I stick predominately to Singles because it's just were I ended up. I'm not in any way interested about discussing my relationship status - or necessarily anyone else's, this just seems the more relaxed forum of the ones on offer.

Nothing is more frustrating to me than a person who purposely misquotes or paraphrases his opponent's position to gain the upper hand. At that point, it's best just to leave the debate.

The ironic thing about this, is that the guy I see doing this the most, has a straw man for an avatar.

You don't wait for people to provide the entertainment - YOU need to be creating what you want to see.

I've been a bit put off in the past, when people reveal crushes on each other, and proverbially 'smooch' on the boards, but despite that, I think this forum is a laugh. I've been on worse - A LOT worse. I once moderated a forum where I received death threats from members who didn't like me. (A bit silly when I had their IP addresses.)

Well I have no issue being entertaining. Unless I think I'm more fun than I really am, which is entirely possible :D But CF and I go WAY back. Good and bad. People who hate me and people who love me. Often times more drama than what it's worth.

True. This is one of the tamest boards on which Ive posted. I actually had one guy show up at my home. It didn't end well for him. But you have to realize that most people do not operate on logic and at least half the people have IQ's on the low end of the "normal" scale.

I worked at a place that had go-carts in college, you would be surprised how many people asked me how to put on the seat belt. It gets worse when you realize where the average is actually located.
