After five years of reading about the Catholic Church, listening to audio presentations, and getting to know some Catholics, I received a burden the other day to seek out answers to my last few questions, and begin the process of seeing if I should join. On the agenda is attend Mass to get a feeling of the local parish, and talk to the priest.

I've only felt this burden a couple of times, and I know Who it is. For my own sake and sanity, I dare not ignore it.

Good luck with that experience. My perception of you is that you have too keen a mind to willingly submit it to the whims of an religious institution with this one's history of changing doctrines, social outlooks and political allegiances. All the best converts and witnesses to any faith are decent and kind persons. A mormon I once knew told me her experiences with mormons were such that they were among the most compassionate and kind people she knew. All mormons also point to a 'burning in the bosom', a kind of calling or burden as proof to the legitimacy of that particular faith as well.

But if this is the best for you in your life at this moment, then my blessings.

I understand what you're saying, but considering it wasn't until I began reading and listening to things about the Catholic Church that I realised I had Catholic inclinations before I really knew anything about Catholicism; a friend of mine who began the journey with me, and who has since graduated from Franciscan University, referred to us as 'closet Catholics'.

Sure, I suppose it has some similarities to the infamous burning of the bosom, but, like I said, I've only felt this a couple times, and those times proved to be far more than subjective impressions; it was also accompanied by a few things which might be chalked up to coincidence, but given the burden, I attribute to something different. 'Course someone whose bosom is burning may point to other things, too. Or perhaps it's only heartburn.

Plot twist: Moroni may have been an undigested bit of beef, a blot of mustard, a crumb of cheese, or a fragment of an underdone potato.

Thats not saying much IMO. Ice cream is highly over rated. (Except for the Vanillaicecream here on CF. She is as awesome as advertised. )

Take some milk, a quality protein, mix in some strawberries, blue berries, bananas and some yogurt if you wish and thats about 40 times better and better for you than sugarized frozen milk and salt.

I say that and Im not even much of a herbivore. I are a carnivore....

I got to chat with Sam the chocolatier today!!! I'm uber excited, and he now has my phone number. He is just as dreamy as the very first time I met him at the farmer's market a few weeks back. Today he gave me an espresso in white chocolate samples.
