It's so slow! I definitely don't picture that song that way either. (I only listened to the first two lines though). I think there is more emotion in most of the songs in lotr.

I am curious now to hear how they did other songs from the book.
Most of them would be characterised as 'stately'. Tom Bombadil, Sam's Rhyme of the Troll, the Bath Song, and Song of the Eagles are a few of the notable exceptions, entertaining a lively folk sound (except Eagles which is choral and orchestral). A friend of mine didn't care for TTE since she thought the opera didn't fit well with Lord of the Rings. They're an acquired taste, certainly. I like the elvish laments with an operatic soprano and subdued strings, and the duets of male and female operatic voices, but I don't expect everyone to share my preference. ;)

Anyway, I think they're probably all on YouTube if you search under #TheTolkienEnsemble if you're interested in hearing more. I do, however, recommend The Old Walking song I (duration: 5:09) and The Old Walking Song III (duration: 3:33).

Does Interstellar get better?! Oh my word...it's like a black hole that sucks all the hope out of the movie! I am pretty sure I just wasted an hour of my life. I couldn't even finish the film. I was an hour in and the never ending cycle of gloom was getting to me.

I thought it was a rather brilliant film. The humanist twist at the end was unfortunate (albeit Hollywood), but the incongruous time reckoning was pretty interesting. It was certainly my favourite film of 2014, though admittedly, I don't have many to rival it. :p

In my head the end (physical) result of all this exercise and dietary changes will be a body that resembles Christina Hendricks. But that's because I think my body is shaped somewhat similarly to my sister, who has that little waist/big hips/generous chest combination.

Reality is I'll resemble Paula Radcliffe. Because I am not shaped like my sister.

Still an improvement.

It started off well and I was hopeful. It was a beautiful film but the story line was just too hopeless for me. I thought when they took off to find a suitable planet that there would be an upswing but the longer it went the darker it seemed to get. Perhaps if I had stuck it out it would have improved but after an hour I just couldn't take it anymore and turned it off.

If it's any consolation, I've got body issues, too. I'm kind of short-ish, scrawny, and a bit pale. In other words, not in the best shape.

I'm not making any plans for my life right now.

The only thing that I have planned is getting all my debt paid off, and doing the best that I can to become independent while still living at home with my folks. I know I talked about going to Torchbearers in England for a while there. but I'm not sure that's God's path for me.

But right now I could really use some prayer for His true path to be revealed to me. I want to become a youth minister, but at this point in my life I just don't know where He wants me in the long run. For that matter I don't know if England or Europe is His will for me or not.

I'm also going to be fasting for eight days starting next month. I don't know from what, yet, might be coffee or something like that. But I'm going to be fasting and praying to see where God wants me, what His calling is on my life.

I have to say, though, that since removing the anxieties of abstaining from having an interest in guys, or enjoying my life here, I am much happier.

Prayer support would be very much appreciated, though.

Being gently reminded that others have similar issues is always a consolation, a selfish one on my part perhaps but a consolation nonetheless :).

Fortunately for me I do not have body issues, just unrealistic expectations thanks to living in a family of beautiful, classically shaped women. I do emphasise with the thoughts that can sometimes come from not seeing what you want to see, and shall resist from doing that condescending thing eldest sisters tend to do with everyone younger than them :).

Naturally, may He show you His will, whatever that may be.

thinking back to a rancher girl I dated who tried to convince me we should marry with a promise that we would always have a freezer full of beef. I wonder where she is now.

Lol, she promised a freezer full of beef? Seems kind of funny, she must have had quite the sense of humor. :D

Rejoice! Rejoice! Although his brain is brief, for when the larder's empty, she'll have a ton of beef!

I always hated Christopher Nolan films.

Been getting into Lars Von Trier as of late. Can relate to his damaged and depressed mind, lol.

His phobias and the fact that while some people think he's vile, he's still heavily censoring himself.
