How many rattle buttons.

Here in the Ozarks I have not seen any big rattlers. I am sure there are a few but they are smart and leave the area when a human is around. I have killed more snakes stomping on them than shooting them. I do not believe I have ever shot a snake before. I hear if you shot them with a bullet that it can fly up in the air and then can come down on you but if you use shot that it just scoots it away.

I have killed copperheads with shovels and hoes, they are all over the place around here. Last hunting season I step on a big one while on a trail. Stepped right in the center of its back and it did not even tag me. I am learning that copperheads do not leave the area like others will, they rely on their camouflage too much and just set there. Weird little things. Not only in my experience but in videos also they do not tag a person when stepped on. I do not get them. Watch this video of a guy stepping all over a small copperhead and the snake does not even strike him.

Start at about 6:10 and watch him step all over the copperhead.

There were 14 buttons, IIRC. But, that doesn't really tell how old he was. Segments break off from time to time. I knew he was an old snake because of how dark he was. I would have kept the skin, but it was too dark. I ran across that one back in the early 90's up in the mountains. I used to hunt for ginseng to make some extra cash. I shot it with a .357. At 6', it made a mess of the head and neck.

True, copperheads aren't aggressive. Most of the time, if they strike at you, its because they feel cornered/threatened.

Sure. The parts that grow on my face grow really fast.

I used to have a boss that arrived later in the day (I started at 08:00 and he started at 13:00) that pulled my aside for grooming standards saying I should be shaving or growing my beard while I have time off if I wanted to... I'd shaved that morning.

As long as there are people, there will be labels, I guess. But I don't fit into the Christian label or the Agnostic label. Annnnd I don't fit into any of the labels that people try to put on people's sexuality. And I don't fit into the nerd stereotype or the party stereotype.

I guess I feel like the labels just confuse me and leave me out, lol.

Absolutely! And my heart goes out to you... I used to live in rural Colorado and they had two really bad fire seasons in the summers of 2012 and 2013. It was really scary. I remember driving through Colorado Springs after the Waldo Canyon fire and seeing the fences lined with signs saying things like, "God bless our firefighters!" I still cry when I think about that. It really touched me deeply.
