  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I've played Civilization 3 and 4 since I was a teenager. My stepfather introduced me to this game series as a way of teaching me some things.
You should get 6 on Steam. Then we can play with/against each other

I'm pretty much done video gaming. Every time I start a new game I simply lose motivation to finish it.

The internet in its infancy. My kids (If I have them) will never understand lol

I miss 2000's internet.

Photoshopped pictures of Bin Laden and George Bush...
Flash animations everywhere...
90% of memes originating in 4chan...
eBaumsworld being hated by everyone for stealing content...
Pop-up ads being considered the worst thing about the internet...
Forums being the main platform for internet socializing...
YouTube being famous for Naruto Linkin Park AMV's, My Top 5 Family Guy Clips, and idiots making fools of themselves for fame...

The nostalgia hurts so much.

Actually now that I think of it, the 1990's was when it was in its infancy, the 2000's was its golden age and the 2010's is when it became a major part of every day life.

I'm just glad I spent my childhood and teenage years before smart phones, Facebook and Twitter became popular. When my best friend and I were in Junior High we would joke around and tell each other memes we saw on the internet. People just looked at us as if we were spouting some kind of inside joke. Our favorite was the, "It's Goofy Time!" meme.

Blasphemyyyyyy .....!!!

An elite 90s GeoCities homepage with a hit counter, guestbook, and MIDI file of an 80s cartoon theme song auto-playing in the background.

Yup. Don't care what anyone says. 90's Internet was the best. ^-^ .... Except for that whole dial-up thing.

My gratitude to @Wayholka , @Swan7 , @TheGirlOnFire , and anyone else I might have missed who have given me empathy and encouragement for the feelings I expressed yesterday. Something tells me that had I actually revealed the specific nature of my darkness, even then none of you here would have judged me or turned me away. You are valuable friends. :)

I'll miss at least a few of my current students, but I'm feeling gassed and ready for the semester to end.

I tend to end up with a student or two who raise their hands to the sky after every step in the book and seem to believe that they can't make progress without my help, and I have a hunch that there's a new line on my forehead for every one of them. :bus::books::bell::partypooper:

Yes being 25 is still a pup.

This is going to sound urgh, but God has his reason and timing and sometimes we need to work on ourselves, a year isn't that long cody though it feels like a life time too you.

This.

When I was in my 20's a year seemed like all the time in the world. Now, in my 30s a year feels like a week did in my 20s. Except when it comes to soreness......... im more sore in a week of my 30s than all my 20s combined. :|

Oh well, at least I am only sore when I do something stupid...... my 40s I hear all I have to do is think about doing something stupid and it will make me sore. 50s... dont even need to think, just sore. :|

Why is it that when I like a song, it becomes all consuming? Seriously, I'll play it on a loop for HOURS. (With headphones on, of course.)

I think I have a problem. Lol.

I do that all the time. I rarely play my music in a playlist, I just loop my music and listen to it until I feel like changing the song. Usually when buying music, I just buy individual songs I really like instead of buying the whole album.

I declare you perfectly sane.
