I found myself thinking about feelings early this morning.
Lat night I watched Frontline their story about solitary confinement and a prison in Maine. It showed pretty graphically how solitary effected those in the cells. Some of their actions seems to be done just to create feelings as they had so little human contact. So they cut themselves. I'm thinking just to feel, some think its to get attention. That might be also.

I know a lady pretty good who is always very upbeat, engages people, is intense and appears to me to want to feel a lot much of her day. She says she lives in the past and the future thinking a lot about her last experience/feeling and refeeling it and thinking about some future experience and what she will feel then. If her feelings aren't that intense she is disappointed.

I find I'm doing somethings to feel what its like to do them, having conversaitons with people, going to personal growth workshops, being open to people.

No conclusions I guess, just I find these thoughts interesting.

I was thinking about a "Bucket List" and if that's something I should have. I've really lived doing things as I go along, so I don't know...hmmmm. The movie was interesting though. I guess it does make one think about their immortality though...

I enjoyed that movie, quietpraiyze,
I don't really have an official bucket list but there are some things I'm interested in seeing and doing. One of them is I've hiked 3/4 of the Appalachian Trail, so I'd like to finish that.

What are you thinking you would like to do?

Ya,. nice to be able to get away like that.

I often wonder what the average person did centuries ago to get away. May their minds were able to create great fantasies ... But now that I think more about it, I think the story telling around the fire at must have been a big part of that.

I have a tendency to watch a lot of intense stuff so this was fun and refreshing! :)

I think there's a real possibility that centuries ago they told the history of their people. Their triumphs as well as failures along with some folklore. Maybe some finger shadow puppets...There is still a strong oral tradition in my culture....

Feeling so grateful that my shoulder pain has significantly reduced over the
past couple days (to almost nil, after being extremely agonizing since last
Thursday) and the full use of my right arm is returning. I'm suspecting
rotator-cuff issues; the doc will hopefully shed light on this seemingly
random thing later this week.

Turns out that it's all good ... no torn rotator-cuff or other issues, according
to the doc.

I'm thinking about the idea that I will be alone and unfulfilled for as long as I live. I am no longer young; and all of my dreams and hopes of my youth are now dead and gone. I just have middle age and old age to look forward to now. And the remainder of my life will be predicated upon the multifaceted failure of my life up until this point in time - so I have no future in this world except for one of pain.

Question. I'm reading this and I need to know how many people are failure in the Bible? Let see there was Moses who murdered a man and ran away. He became the leader of a great nation. There is more lets see if you can name some what they were what they became.

One of my pastors many years ago had a sermon where he went thru ever book of the Bible picking a person from that book and showed how everyone failed in their strength.
So Peter failed in his boldness by denying Jesus 3 times.

It was a very powerful sermon as clearly God still loved everyone of them even with their failures.

I remembered reading this once or twice a while back, so I Googled it, to try to find it again:

The next time you feel like God can’t use you, just remember…

Noah was a drunk

Abraham was too old

Isaac was a daydreamer

Jacob was a liar

Leah was ugly

Joseph was abused

Moses had a stuttering problem

Gideon was afraid

Samson had long hair and was a womanizer

Rahab was a prostitute

Jeremiah and Timothy were too young

David had an affair and was a murderer

Elijah was suicidal

Isaiah preached naked

Jonah ran from God

Naomi was a widow

Job went bankrupt

Peter denied Christ

The Disciples fell asleep while praying

Martha worried about everything

The Samaritan woman was divorced, more than once

Zaccheus was too small

Paul was too religious

Timothy had an ulcer.... AND

Lazarus was dead!

Tom you answered your own doubts. But one small thing Tom, you said what they were you need to answer what did they become? The one thing that we as King's kids can claim is that in our "short comings" God is there for us. Dude, God has never ever left us never will. Do you remember the "Foot Prints in the sand" poem? When in self doubt call upon God

Dayhiker that is true too. Abraham tried to do it on his own. Became worried about the age thing thought that God forgot all about him. God won't forget.

The 11 were failures each had failed. They might have known the Torah but when came time continue there studies with the rabbis they failed. It wasn't intel Jesus called them that they would become what they were. The key members of the modern church. God calls each of us in our failures and weakness.
