• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What's a truely meaningful song to you?

Just out of curiousity, nothing nasty Axver, have you ever gotten really "into" a song that wasn't by U2?
Yes, actually, I have. History Never Repeats by Split Enz means a lot to me, Pink Floyd has made some amazing stuff, there's a couple of songs by Crowded House and The Feelers that I'm really into (Right now, most notably they are Mean To Me by the former and Weapons Of War by the latter), I'm known to put Money For Nothing by Dire Straits (On The Night EP live version) on repeat frequently, I think Metallica's The Unforgiven II is one of the best songs ever made, and I'm really starting to like REM's Drive. That's only scratching the surface, too.

I'm also really into Your Blue Room by The Passengers! (That's a JOKE, people, because The Passengers = U2 + Brian Eno)

If you like the song "history never repeats", have you seen/heard the version Neil and Tim Finn did in concert with Eddy Vedder. It's on a concert DVD.

"November Rain" by Guns N' Roses is top on my list
Also, "My Immortal" by Evanescence, "Runaway Train" by Soul Asylum, "I Miss You" by Blink-182, "The Scientist" by Coldplay (can't listen to it without bawling), "Betty Davis Eyes" by Bonnie Tyler, "Old and Wise" by the Alan Parsons project, "Glycerine" by Bush, "Miss You Love" by Silverchair is a biggie, "Only Happy When It Rains" by Garbage, "The End of the World" by Skeeter Davis, "Take A Bow" by Madonna is huge for me, "Suicide Is Painless" by the Manic Street Preachers, "I Would Do Anything For Love" by Meatloaf, "Stop Crying Your Heart Out" by Oasis, "Better Man" by Pearl Jam, "Don't Let Me Get Me" by Pink, "Blurry" by Puddle of Mudd, "Creep" by Radiohead, and "Still Frame" by Trapt

Yes, they *ALL* mean something to me.
