Why did you choose that option?

that is a very tough question Ram , i think i would argue and ask for the reasons behind the command but i would eventually refuse . anyway Krishna would never force u to do something , in the end in the Gita he says Arjuna should do what he feels is correct

edit- it also depends on the reasons given . if the reason is my neighbour is going to turn loony and kill a bunch of people i might reconsider

i assume that was for me . um it is GOD , am sure the way he presents himself will leave no doubt in my mind , if there was doubt i would never follow it . and i said i might reconsider if its shown my neighbour is goin to turn loony and kill a bunch of people , not that ill do it for sure but ill reconsider

It wouldn't matter to me if this was God or a human asking me to do this. I would ask for the reasons and then decide if it was moral or not (with more evidence than just someone's word), although the example given suggests that it would almost certainly be an immoral request that I must refuse on good conscience, the story of Abraham notwithstanding.

"I was just following orders" is never a valid excuse for immoral acts.

I'd test what I thought I'd seen and heard by the spirit and the word as the bible tells me to do. If it doesn't go along with what the Spirit and Word says then I'd say no.

Anyway God wouldn't ask that. If He wanted someone dead I'm sure He could sort it out himself.

Is that not what it is to be deceived? To be deceived would be to think it was god? No matter how convincing? Don't you think that's a little risky.

First, how do you know a man is good or not? God tells you. If a man is good it is because he dwells within God because he is the source of true goodness.
Second, God would not tell a believer who is good to kill another believer. We that are within God are those who saved by him. God has made all those who believe a new to him. Why would God tell another believer to kill another believer when he will not kill him? God would not.
The question is to deceive people of what God's true nature.

True, but God asks Abraham to kill Isaac, so this situation does have precedent in Christianity.

I would refuse. If God wants this person dead, he can do it himself. I would then check myself into the nearest psych ward as my God also does not command people to kill other people in this manner.

No because it would be a false God. Hitler thought he was doing the will of god too. A lot of wars were faught because people thought they were doing the will of god.

There is a huge back story to that. Taking the scriptures out of context is removes does not allow people to fully know the true story, and taking it out of it’s context is not just the surrounding verses.

1) Many man worshiped “gods” that required child sacrifice to them. Abraham proved he was as devote man to do as God asked of him.

2) God should he did not want to our children sacrificed to him.

3) God foreshadowed what he will do with Jesus.

4) Plus a lot of other things…

God has told us since the death of Christ that were made anew through him. So refer back to the last post of mine…

I might do it if I believed it was truly God who was telling me to do this and I was absolutely certain that God's nature was entirely good. So, God would have to give me a very valid reason and prove to me it absolutely had to be done.

If it was meant to be a test I would ask him what the point is to putting people thru cruelty. What is it with God and tests anyway? He almost seems to want to entrap people.

Ditto. In fact, I would assume that if the voice didn't originate in my mind, and apparently a deranged mind at that if I'm hearing anyone's voice telling me to kill someone, then it also did not originate with the Divine. I would probably seek out spiritual help as well as psychiatric help.
