Again, respond to people as if they're individuals rather than part of the Borg.
Unless they're Unitarian Universalists...they are the Borg. UU of 8! You will be assimilated! All your religion are belong to us!
Reps to anyone who gets that incredibly obscure reference...
Ah yes, because we all know the pagans are less than human and not worthy of your Most High articulation.
Rote is hardly worth replying to.
Are you seriously trying to tell me that this person is not going to offer up the standard liberal/progressive position on the gay deal?
You guys want the world your way and we Christians that take the Bible seriously, oppose that.
I just cannot grasp how anyone can say things like this and think it is ok. I mean seriously do people really think these things, sometimes I feel like it is a reality show or an alternate universe.
I would much rather a person lives in a manner that makes them happy and feel loved and wanted than one that continually makes them feel degraded, unloved and alone, which is what yo so nonchalantly condone.
Rote is hardly worth replying to.
I did. You are a self-described pagan. My response was to your post.
And come on now, your positions are never going to veer from the other usual suspects I connect together.
Or a Humanist. Same thing when the social reengineering wash is done.
Star Trek? The bald guy without a toupee version?
I thought I'd venture a guess.
well, i guess as a christian i am less ocncerned about the happiness of people than i am about the holyness of God.
No? Oh, in that case we won't bother replying to you in future.
David.

David, are you proud of that comeback? Kinda school-yardish don't ya think?
I mean, this thread is the old "what if your child" routine.
Not exactly a creativity quest here.
How about, if you realize you're gay, you'll respect your Christian parent's' position on the absolutely incompatible nature of gay life and Christian truth?
How about a reply to that rather un-rote huh?
13:1 If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. 3 If I give away all I have, and if I deliver up my body to be burned,[1] but have not love, I gain nothing.
4 Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogant 5 or rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;[2] 6 it does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth. 7 Love bears allthings, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
8 Love never ends. As for prophecies, they will pass away; as for tongues, they will cease; as for knowledge, it will pass away. 9 For we know in part and we prophesy in part, 10 but when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. 11 When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I gave up childish ways. 12 For now we see in a mirror dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I have been fully known.
13 So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
Except it seems having a Gay kid.
And as I said, why do you bother responding at all if that's how you feel? Kinda school-yardish don't ya think?

What about Christopher Hitchens? Hes both an anti-religious atheist and a misogynistic rightwing twit, surely he breaks the mould of the evil Atheist/Pagan/Gay/Humanist/Liberal/Progressive/Bed-wetting/Left-handed/Jewish Midget conspiracy?"You guys" comprise all of the segments I lump together. It has been clarly proven as justified to do so. This self-described "pagan" (you reference) is going to set forth all of the same arguments for gay life as do the humanists or atheists . . . and liberals and progressives.

None of this:
Is typical school-yard comeback or rote-like.
How about trying an answer to my question? How about respecting your "parents?"
Well, I don't know for sure, but they don't act gay.
No one has a "gay kid" they just have children.
Are you not thinking like the world and its ways?
Faith, hope, and love, implemented, means never giving up on your child. That means consequences and accountability being viewed as an adult.
Not as a child would.
Hopefully, you didn't offer this scripture as gay activism or gay theology. That would not be employing sound reasoning.
