What would you do if you had five more days to live?

Some of you guys are really bloodthirsty, from the sounds of it.

I'd spend some time with family I don't see often enough now, walk on an empty beach a lot, sleep outdoors somewhere in the woods at night, and on that last afternoon, say good-bye, then find a sunwarmed hayfield, or blueberry field, or a smooth stone hilltop to lie down in and die, preferably alone.

Murdering my enemies seems like an excellent way to end it.

I'd love to know what your 'enemies' have done to you so bad that you would want to kill them.

Me personally, I'd clear out my savings, and in the last couple of days hire out my favourite bar, make the bar free and invite everyone I know, and die happy after consuming a cocktail of drugs. All the money left over I will instruct to go to charity.

I don't have a thousand, but there are a couple. I imagine it's a result of my sense of pride coupled with my foul attitude.

Yes, I've noticed your attitude towards me on this forum has been foul at times, although it is like water off a ducks back for me so I don't spend too much time crying about it.

not at all. They didn't originally pay out for suicide, but they changed their policy relatively recently.

Seriously, though. I don't like goodbyes, and I've enjoyed my life. Murdering my enemies seems like an excellent way to end it.

You totally misunderstood me. When I said I hoped you were joking, I wasn't referring to suicide and insurance policies. I was talking about your claim that you'd murder your enemies. I meant I hoped you were joking about murder. It'd be terrible to meet death with murder on your hands. Terribly wrong.

time to put your killin shoes on

Those who talk a lot about murder are usually the nicest people in real life. That's what psychologists say. The real serial murderers pretend to be averse to killing.

Come to think of it, I've never really mentioned murder have I? I'm totally averse to it. Hehe.

See, the joke was that I assumed you were shocked at an insurance payout for suicide, rather than murder. I can assure you, for those who understood it, it was pretty funny.

You have to understand, I think the worst possible thing is to be pitied. Murdering my enemies will let me die unpitied, and on top of that, with the taste of revenge still on my tongue! If I must go at such a young age, I can think of few ways that are better.

I don't know whether it's just me but I always miss these things. Things like sarcasm always don't work with me. Maybe it's because I'm too honest and I'm what-you-see-is-what-you-get sort of person. Hehe.

Like I've said, those who talk about it usually don't do it. You should be more wary of people like me. Hehehehe.

Great. You called me out. Now if I'm ever told I have 5 days to live, I have to kill someone, or you're all going to think of full of it.

Also, didn't you just talk about it?

My legal forms are all in order so I think I would not tell anyone and just live the last five days as if they were perfectly normal and then just die. I don’t want to try and live up to unrealistic expectations of what “I should be doing” and then be disappointed that it did not turn out right. I have created a life I enjoy and have wonderful partner whom I love, I don’t want to rock the boat at the last minute.

If it was 6 months in the future or 6 months ago:

I would travel to some fun place with my friends, perhaps Egypt or return to Peru (always loved that place), play a few games of poker and rap up my life plans here (Make sure my game and property is taken care off, that my bible is recognized for its value, and that my part-way finished book is at least given to my friends to read)

I would take one day to drink and have some fun sex for the experience, but this will take no more than about 10% of my time here left at most (could be less if I have more time)

I would also like to meet a few old friends that I have not seen in a while and try to get in a few fun last day-debates with my religious friends.

I would finally like to spend the last 2 days of my life doing something fun and dangerous, such as jumping across cliffs, or some kind of extreme dirt biking or something like that. If I survive that I would like to die while talking with some of my closer friends...

If I am given this time now, I really dont know what I will do. The problem is that my family is in some serious trouble right now and I need to be spending a lot of time working to ensure they survive. I guess that I might hide the fact that I am dieing for a few days so they do not have to worry about me in addition to their current problems at least for a few days, and spend perhaps 2 days on a trip to new york (3 hours drive) and go to a sushi restaurant with them. I still will want to die while talking to some of my closest friends.

I can't say I would do anything terribly different, I'd probably make sure I said my goodbyes to people I don't regularly see, but otherwise I hope the way I live my life is close enough to the way I WANT to live my life that I wouldn't have to activate some bucket list to feel fulfilled.
