What would Jesus tell you if you met him?

Why do you think that I, an atheist, would base anything on scripture?

You're not really doing anything any different than anybody else here.

Each person here is ignoring God's word in order to substitute their own imagination to put their own thoughts and feelings in Jesus' mouth.

You're just the first one who actually imagines Jesus saying something that directly contradicts scripture.

Jesus says that He came to call you to repent. You're saying that He didn't.

Surely, you must have something to base this on.

So you think that even you are "ignoring God's word in order to substitute [your] own imagination to put [your] own thoughts and feelings in Jesus' mouth"? Or are you the sole exception to that rule?

I base that on my own personal thoughts and feelings. What else is there to base it on?

Where have I ever said that Jesus would tell me something other than what's in His word?

Scripture.

Scripture.
So you do think of yourself as the exception to that rule. Gotcha.

Why would I base anything on scripture when I think that the Bible is just as fictional as the Harry Potter books are?

If you go back and look at my posts in this thread, you'll see that I haven't done it so, yes, in this case, I am the exception to the rule.

Why would you come to a Christian message board to blaspheme God's name?

LMAO. You honestly think that stating my opinion is blasphemy? Seems like you need to educate yourself a bit on that topic: http://www.tgm.org/Blasphemy.htm. See? Blaspheming is "when someone one knowingly and deliberately as a legal witness attributes the works, operations and/or gifts of the Holy Spirit to the Devil or attributes the works, operations of the Devil to the Holy Spirit." So how was I blaspheming by saying that the Bible is fictional in my opinion?

The problem is that, anytime we go outside of scripture to "imagine" what God would say, we're putting our own words and our own expectations on God. That's nothing short of idolitry. It is essentially making God over in your own image.

And, frankly, the idea of Jesus sitting in a bar sucking down beers is blasphemous.

That or he's just a free spirit that even after finding Christ still likes to express his free will and happy go lucky cockney street urchin way. ^_-

the bible would say that this man is unconverted. read 1 John to find out if you really know him.

I find this a very sad and distressing question.

Jesus is alive, on earth, and He stands at the door and knocks for His Children to open and spend personal time with Him as friends.

The question, "If I met God/Jesus, what would..." is just completely uninteresting and odd of me to be asked.
I have a PERSONAL and REAL relationship with Jesus and He talks to me every single day, multiple times a day.

To me it would be like someone asking a wife, with her husband standing right by her, "If you met your Husband, what would you/he say?"
He's right there next to you.

Revelation 3:20
"Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with him, and he with me."

Christians need to realize that God is about a personal relationship. God is more real than you or me. And a personal relationship with God is just like a relationship with any human, but 1000000x better.

God is more than just a God; He is a friend, and to those who fall hard in love with Him; an intimate lover.

When I met the Holy Spirit, my Christianity went from a religion to a personal relationship.
excellent points

okay, He's been longing to see us as much as we've been longing to see Him. I honestly don't think the first thing out of His mouth will be "repent for all your sins." His Love for us is so strong, He wants a smile, He wants us to feel warm inside.
he has been seeing us actually. do you think God just reveals himself all the time when we knowingly have unconfessed sins?

Jesus would tell me what I already know: that there is nothing wrong with me choosing not to be a Christian. (BTW, I highly dislike people preaching to me, so please do not do so. Thanks. :))
actually you would tell yourself this. even though you would love to believe it, it's not true.

he never said he was the exception to the rule, but you did seeing as how you don't follow the rules. again you are a walking contradiction. you should use the bible to prove us wrong because you are saying the bible is wrong, and when asked how the bible is wrong you say "it's my personal opinion" like we should really believe you over God.

because saying that the bible is false is the works of the devil. you see how that works?

5We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

you know what, there was a question asked about what we would THINK Yeshua would say to us if He were to have a conversation.
I told you what I thought He'd say to me.
So, don't judge me.

I know that I need to repent, He doesn't need to tell me.
