What would happen if we voted for whom we want rather than who we think might win?

All I'd have to do is choose between Andrew Yang and the Green candidate, since I think most of us would agree that the 'main' parties have failed to come up with anyone likely to be up to the job.

Those two old parties would cease to be 'main' very quickly if we could get a consensus on who we really want, they've basically both stepped aside and left the field open for us to get what we want.

I do vote for who I want which meant that in 2016 I couldn't vote for someone who had a chance to win.

That is the whole concept behind voting. What use is the system giving you two choices, both of which serve the system? Who made them the 'people'? It's a rigged game.

I voted for who I felt best for the job in 2016 in both the primary and the general, and he won against all odds and polls at every turn and lived up to the reasons I wanted him in office.

I'm pretty sure that that's not the case. I think the Democratic primary has proved that.

They get a more representative set of um representatives in many European countries as a result.

We use two variations of preferential voting in Australia. It works for us.

Plus we have compulsory voting, which means that a majority really is a majority.

Plus we get a democracy sausage.
