Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I don't believe that.

Mark 2:7b who can forgive sins but God only?
The Trinity was invented at the synod. Proto Christians believed in Jesus the son of man and that he was the prophesied messiah.

I know that you do not believe this for religious reasons but when one looks at history then historical accuracy takes precedence over belief!

Now everyone have a very happy new year ya hear :wave:

Miracles usually don't.

Another theory I put forward, is that God could have just pushed His hand down into the sea and made the water rise.

Again though, it doesn't jive with the Documentation.

Well I figure if you want to say it's a miracle it would make more sense to say that God just made the water appear from nowhere and then made it disappear the same way.

And that would go against the Documentation ... wouldn't it?

In fact, in more ways than one.

Technically ... and by the narrowest interpretation ... an atheist is one who says in his heart that there is no Godhead; i.e., Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Even polytheists, who would accept the Trinity on principle, but accept It as only a subset of a multiplicity of deities, would fall under the definition of "atheist," because they don't believe the Godhead as the Godhead has revealed Himself to us; i.e., as the one true God.

In a broader sense, and going by the Egyptian (worldly) Dictionary, an atheist is one who denies the existence of God, period.

No, your definition of what an atheist is is wrong.

How can you deny something that does not exist?

Try again.

Exactly. An atheist is someone who lacks belief in god. And indeed, one of the original accusations against Christians, besides cannibalism, was that they were atheists.

Shhh! Christians get mad if you point out to them that they practice ritual cannibalism:D

Only Catholics, is my understanding. The rest of them abandoned it not long after Martin Luther decided that his personal conscience was more important than the unity of Christendom. He had a lot to answer for, that young man.

So would hiding all evidence that there was ever a flood. It looks like you lose either way.

It always puzzles me how much modern Christians (some of them, anyway) desperately desire science to confirm their narrative, despite the fact that they despise the results of science.

I think it's a recognition that religion no longer has the same authority as it once did; that science is not the game in town; and that nothing can really be taken seriously unless it's confirmed by science.

After all, the difference between religion and science is that science works. It produces tangible results that improve lives, cure disease, treat the mad, increase the happiness and physical well-being of millions of people. Religion - well, not so much.

Yes, Catholics still supposedly believe in transubstantiation. But it you read the Bible literally the way that creationists do it would apply to them too if they were consistent.

Oops, my bad. I should know better than to expect creationists to be consistent.

What was hidden? if you tell your child to clean up his room, do you do it by telling him to "hide your toys"?
It looks like you lose either way.
Nope ... it's hard to accuse Him of hiding the Flood, when He documented when He did it, where He did it, why He did it, how He did it, what order He did it in, how long it took Him to do it, and who the eyewitnesses were.

No, there is no documentation of what he did. There is one verse that you kee misinterpreting and that is all.

You did get one thing correct. Your god that you worship is like a spoiled little child.

Science can take a hike; and for the record, I have a set of standards I go by that allow me to accept 95% of science's conclusions.

I think this post is indicative of one of my beliefs, that the Tribulation period will consist of two religions going head-to-head: Christianity, led by Jesus Christ vs. Scientism, led by the Antichrist.

You have to believe that, in order to make yourself look right; and when "scientists" trample the word of God like that in order to look right, it's a sure shot we're on the right track.

I don't know about geologic features, but I certainly can tell you what biological features would: Nephilim families.*

* Fallen angels = fathers; humans = mothers; giants = children.

So you're saying the Current Family must be an Angel Father, Human Mother, and the Child Must be a Giant?
How are you defining A "Giant" ?

Which means your standards are irrelevant as anything other than a way of protecting you from the indifference of the real world.

You're spicing up your beliefs with your private fantasies now, but whatever turns you on. The contents of your fantasy world, however, will remain just that, and long after you and everything you have ever thought and felt has died with you, men will still be striving to understand the world and the universe using the only method there is: science.

Is the "Antichrist" a god?
Yes.

2 Corinthians 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.

Daniel 11:38a But in his estate shall he honour the God of forces:

Technically, those verses are talking about Satan, but when Satan delegates his power to the two Antichrists, they will also become "gods" in the virtual sense.

How do scientists "trample" the word of God. And of course we know that your Bible is not the word of God. It has too many self contradictions.

I know if you are a gullible enough you can believe the self contradicting verses.
