Probably true, but I suspect that His pleasure mostly derived from a Real Presence. When Israel was faithful, outpourings of the Spirit (the divine Word) permeated the burnt offerings and atmosphere in modalities such as divine Smoke (see Revelation 15:8 for example). Therefore what the Father most enjoyed, in my opinion, was the sweet fragrance of His Third Person, ascending up to him carrying the (literally exhaled) praises of His people (Revelation 5:8).Well I think God must like red meat. The Bible speaks multiple times of the pleasing aroma in his nostrils.
When Israel was NOT faithful, the sacrifices weren't pleasing to Him at all, in fact He considered them a stench to His nostrils.
"He said, "Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them"—though they were offered in accordance with the law." (Heb 10:8).
