I expect we will be as Jesus was when He was resurrected: Able to eat but not requiring food.

I don't think we'll worry about haute cuisine, however. I expect we will fully enjoy the most natural and minimally prepared foods.

Given that the Tree Of Life in the New Jerusalem will bear twelve kinds of fruit for us, then to paraphrase Bubba Gump re. our new diet:

"Anyway, like I was sayin', fruit is the fruit of the Tree. You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, sauté it. There's uh, fruit-kabobs, fruit creole, fruit gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There's pineapple fruit, lemon fruit, coconut fruit, pepper fruit, fruit soup, fruit stew, fruit salad, fruit and potatoes, fruit burger, fruit sandwich. That- that's about it.” :grinning:

That sounds a little boring.

If heaven is filled with endless joy then is it unreasonable to want endless delicious foods? :)

I do not expect that we will be just sitting in heaven lollygagging. I think we will be returned to Adam's status of being stewards of creation...including all the stars and galaxies of the universe. I think we'll be busy with good work.

And good food too?
Will the internet be really top quality too? :)

Here on Earth there's all manner of delicious food, lovely recipes, great chefs, and life can be quite enjoyable with good food and wine for one's meals. But what's the cuisine like in Heaven?

what Adam ate in Eden - as God designed it - as per God's creation.

Gen 1:
27 So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. 28 God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.” 29 Then God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the surface of all the earth, and every tree which has fruit yielding seed; it shall be food for you; 30 and to every animal of the earth and to every bird of the sky and to everything that moves on the earth which has life, I have given every green plant for food.

Gen 2:
16 The Lord God commanded the man, saying, “From any tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for on the day that you eat from it you will certainly die.”

Going vegetarian or maybe even vegan is not terrifying as a prospect but one hopes that there will be a lot of good spices and lovely oils and fats as well as grains to eat. Maybe we'll all be pasta-farians :)

Joy on toast? ;-)

"produce good fruit in keeping with repentance" I think someone once said
"one day you will have to eat your words," someone else once said
I imagine we will be eating the fruit we have born
Be it bitter
Or sweet

If I am not mistaken, the expected heaven is supposed to be on the new earth.

On one of my trips to China I was told about a woman who was making the rounds in Christian circles telling about her post-death experience of heaven. According to her, there were lots of happy folks there eating chicken.

I wonder how one obtains heavenly chicken meat :)

Whatever we can dream of! We won't need food, but we can eat for fun and probably have whatever we liked on earth as well as try new things we never heard of in Heaven.
I'm wondering what the education system will be like up there, we'll have a LOT to learn. We'll get the complete unabridged version of the Holy Bible and all things Jesus did on earth that never made it to the earthly Bible. Probably less than 1% of Jesus' ministry and miracles probably made it into the Bible. We'll learn the true history of humanity from Adam & Eve to the end times. We'll learn about the plant and animal life that exists up in Heaven that don't exist here on earth, as well as the geography of Heaven. There will be lots to see, learn and explore.
