Same here Michie. I was an avid runner for years. My knees are trash so I improvise and overcome.
You should hear my left knee when I go up it down the stairs. I know what happened though. I was doing landscaping with river rocks and fell on my knee. It has not been the same since but I think I was predisposed to it. I’ve had issues since I was 12 yrs. old or so. Water, etc. I was a soccer player.

Patched a pothole in the parking lot (about 2' X 2').

Blacktop patch.JPG

1. Made saw cut around pot hole.
2. Broke up old blacktop with heavy stone bar.
3. Removed rubble by hand and shovel.
4. Wheeled rubble away.
5. Hoisted 4 50 lb. bags of cold patch.
6. Filled hole and raked level.
7. Tamped patch with heavy tamper.
8. Took about 1 1/2 hours.
A good total body workout. :hot:

I used to run but I hurt my shins and knees so I stopped.

I now wear braces when I exercise and have found aerobic exercises I can do sitting down if I'm really bad. I sit in a chair, back straight, cross my legs, first the right over the left. Then I touch my shoulder with my right hand then banding down touch my toe. I do this back and forth for one minute then switch legs and arms and do the other side for one minute.

Sorry im not sure what are braces? Are those for supporting your legs?

knee braces, they help to support that part of my legs so I can do some squats and other like exercises. I also wear sneakers with good arch support for aerobics. I found I can do more when I wear braces, I even have some for my wrists as without them I could no longer do push ups but with then I can.

My gym has been closed for ever. Because COVID-19 for a few months, then lazy management. I messed my knee a few weeks ago. Trying to get back into walking So, exercise has been limited. Hopefully, when my knees better I can start my long walks again. I hope to get a new treadmill. Since my gym is never open.
