Buffy The Vampire Slayer (Kristy Swanson)
story about a cheerleader that learns she is "the chosen one" with special abilities to kick the butts of vampires.
Fair to Good, interesting but somewhat shallow plot and storyline, fair acting and decent action with a somewhat romantic tale to it. Gets close to being very good in spots but seems to jerk along in pace.

Broken Trail (Robert Duvall)
miniseries (2 parts on 2 discs 3 hours approx) about a man that is given trust of a dead womans estate and seeks our her estranged son to make a deal herding bought horses across the country for profit. The meet up with some asian women sold into slavery and lots of things happen.
Fair to Good, the acting is very good, action is good but between a lot of dialog much of which is subtitled in english because of the chinese talk. I enjoyed it and it appears to be a true story as the ending is unexpected and sort of dissapointing. I won't watch it again though.

12 Monkeys (Bruce Willis)
a gritty time travel paradox of sorts where a man travels back to try to find a cure for a virus that killed 5 billion people in the past.
Fair to almost Good, I would say it was better but the ending just leaves a really bad taste in my mouth. The acting is very good, grittiness and drama and everything works very well but the end just plain sucks and is rather pointless period. This is one of those make you think movies that gets you into thinking what is the point? If you like willis and can ignore the stupid circular pointless ending it is Good.... otherwise forget this one.

Tomb Raider, Tomb Raider (2) Cradle of Life
two movies that have a treasure hunting super woman, first she is after a time machine, second after pandora's box
Good to Near Excellent, both movies are well written and have a very good balance of action that is on par with the Indiana Jones movies. These two are a great pair for your action movie collection.. for the action alone they are excellent, but Angelina Jolie is nowhere near as good as Harrison Ford was in his prime.. they rely too heavily on her body to keep interest rather than acting ability.

Major League
story of an owner of a baseball team that hires the worst players she can find to have a losing season so she can move the team to Florida.
Fair to Very Good, if you are both a baseball and Charlie Sheen and Tom Berenger Fan, this is a very funny and good film that will keep you entertained at the antics of the wide variety of characters and tiny subplots within. I really enjoyed this one.

Major League 2
sequel of the first that starts out with the previous members struggling with coaching and team ownership change again encouraging a losing season.
Fair to Good, If you enjoyed the first one, you will like this one as it has the same feel but struggles with most of the supporting cast not as funny or interesting as before. They try to make up for it with romance story of Sheen's character but it isn't enough to carry the somewhat disorganized screenplay of this one. I still enjoyed it but don't expect a bottle of flat soda pop to have any fizz left to it.

THX 1138 (Robert Duvall)
interesting movie from 1971 ahead of its time about a man in a rigid drug repressed society living like a robot that manages to break free.
Fair to Good, this has a weird tone to it sort of creepy and numbing and drags on and on in places lulling you almost into a coma. It was very interesting if you could focus and watch it. The ending is like a highway stopping in the middle of nowhere, you expect a reward for the numbing journey but get....I say don't bother with this one.

Marilyn Hotchkiss Ballroom Dancing & Charm School
a man is talked into visiting a dance school by a dying man he meets in a highway accident
Fair to Good, rather interesting movie that works well and has a believable romance and *feels* good, just somewhat clumsily scripted, making you suffer through two story lines where one leads off a cliff so to speak.
