I suspect that Hamas were looking to force Israel into attacking Gaza. That will inevitably lead to civilian casualties, which they hope will drive recruitment and isolate Israel on the world stage. Hamas does not care about Gaza or its inhabitants, outside of their potential as recruits. Their one and only goal is the destruction of Israel, and they're willing to do - and try - anything to achieve it.

Except Israel is pretty immune to global public opinion and will do what it necessary to wipe Hamas out.

There is no evidence that they didn't either, I agree with Israel and further, there is this little thing about guilt by association.

The executive editor of Honest Reporting now claims his publication was just asking questions and never implied any news agency knew of the Hamas attack in advance.

"There are those who took our story and pretended that they knew the answers - the Israeli government, cabinet ministers, various Twitter personalities - we didn't claim to know," Hoffman said.

He also accepts as "adequate" the responses by AP, CNN, Reuters, etc and noted there was nothing "problematic" with the photojournalists who provided photographs to the news agencies.

Some people absolutely cannot, will not see this as a spiritual war. They cannot see the hand of the evil one nor his motives. I agree that this war could be the beginning of the Psalm 83 war. So, imho, compassionate Christians should prepare themselves for the carnage that will ensue. If people think what is happening now is hard to watch, just wait.

Hamas set a trap and Israel fell into it. They wanted to provoke Israel into killing Arabs and be the bad guys. However, it also resulted in Muslim Arabs killing Muslim Arabs. There are Muslims Israelis in the IDF. Just like Jewish and Christian Israelis they are fighting for the continued existence of their country.
