  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What type of craft project are you working on now?

The one on the left is for me, the one on the right is for my mum... can't wait to finish them. Just blanket stitching them now...

I've just finished up 4 quilt tops (2 pink and white attic windows, a green and white floral nine patch, and a blue and white floral rail fence)...hopefully my hubby will be picking up some batting and backing for me today. Also, I finally finished a simple cuddle blanket that I made for one of my daughters...it's just a fabric panel backed with fleece to make it snuggly. And, I also just finished up my baby I Spy quilt that I've been working on forever. Now I need something else to do... ;)

Hey Heather,

Got your reps and your query...the way this my quilt is made is by cutting your squares..front and back out...filling as well. You put them together as you see it. right sides out..and stuffing in the middle...sew an X from corner to corner.

Once you have laid out your pattern and rows...you take your first two of the first row put them back to back and sew either a 1/2 inch seam or a 1 inch seam..which ever you like. You add each block this way..back to back...once you have joined it all together...you see a seam all the way around the quilt...you will have ALL your seams exposed and you snip them so they will fray. You don't trip them down though. you just make a snip every 1/2 inch so when you wash and dry it ..they fray down and look all fringy...if that makes any sense.

Hope that helps,

Casi (time to work out) ;)

At this time I'm knitting myself a halter top. Using circular needles. Since I'm from the bottom working my way up, I know I will need help with the decreasing and getting that V-neck. The first project I did was making slippers for my then 8 month old son.

I am working on a few things at present. A knitted shawl for my new nephew, a cross stitch for my baby girl, and sewing 2 bible covers for my eldest 2 children. Yeah so I really should be doing that and not surfing the web...
Blessings....

I finished another baby quilt top tonight. It's not very good...my corners just refused to line up...bleh. Oh well, it's still cute fabric, so if I decide not to give it to one of the babies in my life then I'll donate it to one of the many quilt charities...I'm sure someone will appreciate it, lol.

I started a bed set for my friend. Blanket and pillow cases. It's coming out nice. The theme is the beach and verses from the bible. I'm also working on a large shell mirror from shells and sand that I got at the beach too. (Here in Florida). I used school glue to glue the sand on around the mirror. I also used a hot glue gun to glue the bigger shells on. I made flowers out of the little colored shells. It looks really good. To finish it, I'm going to put a clear coat of sealer on so it will all stay together and have that finishing look.
