I think we pretty much all agree on what's good and bad but I'll join in anyway! Of course these are all just in my opinion:

Good things:
Honest
Relatively private
Intelligent
Sense of humour
Kindness to others
Speaking kindly of others
Compatible religious beliefs
Compatible life plan

Bad Things
Opposites of everything on above list!
Smoking / drugs / illegal activity
Arrogance
Controlling behaviors
Aggression/anger

That's alarming. My relationship with my parents have been pretty bad. But hey, it's their fault not mine! Ahum

Well seriously, I think it in a way that we all have number of people in our lives with whom we just don't get along well, and for me those people just happened to be my parents (my dad's been dead for years now tho) and not someone else.

To avoid missunderstandings, I have to mention that it's nothing dramatic, they're not monsters or anything, I'm just incompatible with their world so distancing myself from them like ten years ago was the logical way.

At least to me, I wouldn't want my partner broadcasting our personal affairs to the world.

I like my privacy and I don't like everyone knowing my business.

See that is fine right their you say you just didn't get on with them which is understandable, some who is abusive to their mother, calls her names, doesn't hand in money, takes advantage off i think that's what my grandmother was talking about

I look for a woman with a faithful personality. Someone who doesn't judge too sharply and who isn't shallow. I think it's ok to make some judgements but the reasons are most important. I definitely can't hang around a woman that is too holy to be around me.

Yeah, well, she may think she wants to be around me, but most haven't made it past the no-deoderant test, unfortunately.

That's what I meant I'd want to feel like I can share things with him that others don't know, and that he shares things with me that others don't know.
