There is the faith that God accepts.
This happens once.
This is the faith that God accepts when we Trust Christ.
The proof He accepts this faith ONCE< is that we are born again ONCE.

Later, is where the confused become more confused, regarding faith, dead faith, lukewarm faith, etc.
However all that .....is related to discipleship.
The original faith, that we gave God, He accepted to give us His righteousness.
Can this be changed?
No.

"but what about if we lose our faith".

What about the fact that you are born again, and this "dead faith", argument is a dead horse.

Its interesting that people will agree that God saves them, not of themselves, but then refuse to accept that if they can't save themselves, then they also can stop it.
Illogical sentence ????, because there is no logic found in a theology that says....."i can't save myself but i can stop my salvation".

You can't stop what you didnt cause.

"I know but...what if we lose our faith".....

Well, apparently you are too late with that option, as God already accepted your faith to save you.
Salvation is not a process we complete.
Its a GIFT we receive.
If faith cannot be dead,,,why does James give a perfect example of it? What good is it to tell someone you're sorry they're cold or hungry if you don't feed them?

Jesus meant to change the way we live. This requires action on our part....faith has action in it.
If you have faith that an elevator will take you up...you'll get on it. If you don't have faith in it, for whatever reason, you will not get on it.
Faith = Action
This action is the good deeds we do.
Maybe not even feeding the poor...maybe just being nice to everyone. We each can only do what we are called to do and what we have been given a measure of faith for. Romans 10:3

About these carnal moments your O.P. is about....
I agree with you 100%.
After becoming one with the spirit of God,,,we can bask in His love and not worry about sinning since we will no longer be very happy to sadden God. The more we think about it, the worse it is. Philippians 4:8

Reader,
Repenting is a guilt trip band-aid.
It does not restore your relationship to God, as only the Blood of Jesus continues this relationship.

Most Christians do not understand that sin is gone, righteousness is come, and the confessing and repenting does nothing.
Its guilt trip medicine.
The issue....... is not understanding who you are In Christ, and Why this is so....
We have to come to the place where we see ourselves as God sees us, so that we can walk in this Light.
Till you are there, you'll play the game of sinning and repenting and confessing, and all you are doing is talking to the walls.
Your righteousness does not go away, or fade, or fall off, or disappear.
A born again believer, is always "the righteousness of God in Christ".
WE are always "IN CHRIST", because God put us there.
Wow, what you've just said directly contradicts the Lord:

"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen." --Matthew 7:9-13

I agree with you.
Some tend to think of us as pharisees or legalists, when, actually, all we're doing is repeating what Jesus taught, and the other writers of the N.T.

I think Only Faith or Only Grace is a dangerous idea....the reason I'm not very bothered by the O.P. is that I know him to be doing his best to lie a life worthy of being called Christian...

Unfortunately, some that speak this way do feel that they can sin and even blaspheme the Holy Spirit and still be saved.

Nothing can be further from the truth and I fear that this type of "teaching" will lead many away from their salvation.

I wonder what @Behold would say about
Colossians 1:21-23
21And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind, engaged in evil deeds,
22yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death, in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach—
23if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, was made a minister.

You need to read the NT where Paul in involved and stop living in the Old Testament where the blood of Jesus is not found.
Once you do that, you are finally involved with the NEW Covenant.
Good luck.

If faith cannot be dead,,,why does James give a perfect example of it?

Once you realize that faith does not save you, you'll stop writing about dead faith on every forum you can find, trying to prove that dead faith means dead salvation.

I dont think you will ever be able to understand that Faith does not save, and that is why you never stop talking about dead faith to prove that you can lose your salvation.

But who knows....Maybe one day....

I agree with you.

There is no "thinking" about it.
You are a self saving Legalist.
You do not believe that the Blood of Jesus that saved you keeps you saved.
You believe that YOU keep you saved, by whatever your LIST is, of "dos and dont' dos".
So, to say you trust in Christ is not true.
You trust in YOU..
If you trusted in Christ you would not believe that YOU keep yourself saved.

Not every forum Behold.
Just two.

Jesus saves us through faith.
Ephesians 2:8

No faith....no salvation.

Show us a few verses that state we can be saved without faith in God....

You never reply to verses that are found in the N.T.

You give your opinion...your OPINION does not count for anything.

Jesus said we will be judged by our good deeds....
John 5:28-29
28“Do not marvel at this; for an hour is coming, in which all who are in the tombs will hear His voice,
29and will come forth; those who did the good deeds to a resurrection of life, those who committed the evil deeds to a resurrection of judgment.

Please exegete.
Thanks.

Why does this upset you?
Show us some verses that state we are free to live as we want to and still be saved.

Jesus left us with commandments.
Are we not to follow them?

Paul was a servant of the Lord: he taught what the Lord commanded...

What you're suggesting doesn't follow from what the bible actually says.

I quoted to you the very words of the Lord--anyone can see that--yet you continued as if my response was meaningless...

I can't do any better than quoting the Lord, so I guess I've got nothing more to say to you about your post.
