JRPGs, Turn-based Strategy, Beat-em Ups (ala Dynasty Warriors), occassionally a Fighter, and Platformers.

I mainly play JRPG's-I love Dark Cloud 2, Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, Chrono Trigger.

I also enjoy platformers like Mario, Sly Cooper and I still love all the old school games on the SNES, NES, Genesis etc, especially the classic sidescrollers :) I'll occasionally play fighting games and action/adventure games.

I'd suggest the Tales of series if you haven't tried it (except Legendia) and if you like CT, try Radiant Historia.

PS: This may not be the place to ask this, so you don't have to answer, but I'm curious why you guys have such problems with cursing in games, but don't mind playing games centered around killing people?

I don't mind an occassional word, it happens. But when it starts sounding like a Stephen King novel it quickly gets annoying. As for killing people, the kind of games I play do not have a lot of blood or gore, and they definitely do not look like actual people. I don't associate falling on the ground and fading away with actual violence. It'd be like trying to avoid any cartoon that had violence in it.

I gamed a lot in my 20's but got away from it for over 20 years except for some mario games with the kids. Then a year and half ago I started playing MMORPGs and other games with my children. It is fun to play with your kids and join them in something they like to do.

The games I play are DragoNest, Minecraft, ElderScrolls, Civilization V and recently RaiderZ.
