CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Biblical archaeology does a good job of confirming things that are checkable. And as dvd_holc says, history confirms parts of the New Testament.
Now if the checkable parts are right, that suggests that the hard-to-check parts are right too, doesn't it?

Your question is quite broad in the areas which could be brought up. But, I am wondering, what kind of proof are you looking for that may convince you that "anything in the Bible is real"?

Two totally different things. People believed and even became martyrs for Christ because of signs and wonders they claimed to see, such as the resurrection. Mohammed and Buddha never had these type of martyrs. People died for them because they believed in what they said. They were obviously very convincing but people basically had to take their word for it. But in the case of Jesus the eyewitnesses claimed to see miracles. The disciples were martyred because they wouldn't deny the supernatural deeds Jesus performed. If these miracles never took place, it makes no sense why men would lie about it to the point of death.
