Hi, I'm Natalie. I was raised atheist, but I turned Jewish about a couple years ago. Today I came across a webpage written by some Pastor (I don't even know what a pastor is) about "Satan's all-time greatest illusion." It was interesting, so I looked at other similar pages, and after a few hours, I was like "Could Jesus really be the Messiah? Why didn't anyone tell me about this guy?!" All I really know about Jesus is that Mel Gibson made a disgusting, movie about his death. I'm so confused. I like going to synagogue on Fridays, and I'm really in love with my Jewish boyfriend. My boyfriend would not react well if I told him I might believe in Jesus now. Maybe I should talk to a rabbi or priest or both? I don't know what to do.

You are seriously confused on what you should or should not believe. Going here is 'tainted' for every christian would tell you that christ is the way, what is important to me is your choice. Its your life you have to decide what religion is right for you. I can only provide you the medium which can teach you about the life of Jesus Christ, or you could just buy a bible.http://www.biblegateway.com/ contains the entire bible , the torah, as wel as the new testament containing the life of Jesus Christ in it. There are Jewish people who do accept Jesus as the Messaih, whats most important tho is that you become a loving and helping person, who makes her own choices and carves her own path that leads back to God. Every religion on earth is a stepping stone that does exactly that, therefore no religion has the right to critisize another religion, because everyone is on a different spiritual level that requires a different 'feedback'.

Hi Natalie :)

The best thing you can do now is to get yourself a good Bible (New King James Bible) and read about the life and teachings of Jesus.

There are 4 sections in the bible called the Gospels. these sections are called Matthew Mark Luke and John. They detail the Life of Jesus. Also all the sections that follow these 4 deal with His message.

Maybe now is not the time to go and talk to any religious figure. Because sadly there are many false religious leaders in this world. The best thing for you to do is get to know Jesus, so that you can come to know just Who and What you believe in.

Believing the Messiah Jesus is the Key to being redeemed into eternity with The God of Abraham. If you have any questions please feel free to Private Message me.

I hope one day you become my Sister in faith

Peace be to you,

i have been in this situation myself but completely the otherway round what i dicided to was search and study all religions to amke sure i chose the correct one and that when i would make my decision God willing i would be confident about my decision despite what ANyone WOULD SAY.

For someone in your situation i believe this is the best option. God knows best.

buttercup7......

Yup. Jesus is the Messiah that was spoken of often in the Old Testament.

All roads do not lead to the true God.

How exciting !..... that you are seeking the Truth !

Ditto: Get yourself a Bible. Perhaps start in the book of John. It is often considered a Love Letter.

And: Spend time alone, in the dark....talking to God. Question Him. Tell Him what you are thinking. Ask Him to reveal Himself to you.

He will more than likely do this (revealing) by way of His written word. (the Bible)

Don't worry about your boyfriend right now.
What is important...is that there is life after we leave this earth. And, not all of it is good. Seek the answers to the questions you have.

God is so good..... He will respond !
He has promised this !
Seek and ye shall find.....

In this matters, family, boyfriend, friends etc... dont really matter.
What they think and how will they react its not relevant.
I know its easy to talk but hard to do, but this is the truth.
Take the Injel only, read it, if you dont understand something ask us, in the same time talk to rabbis and priests.
You need to do everything to find what is best for you.

Dondi mentioned Messianic Judaism...I don't know if you've heard of it, but it fits your description very well. MJ's respect the Old Testament laws, and consider Jesus and the New Testament the completion of the Law and the prophets.

Is that similar to the web site you ran across? It's worth reading more about.

This is a great plan. If I were you, this is what I would do before anything else.

I'll be honest: I had no idea what to say to you after these posts. However, as I was about to close out of the thread, I had a thought, perhaps not of my own (I wonder...). God is Love. Jesus died out of Love. The Holy Spirit is our Essence of Love. Right now you just need to stop thinking. Go to the roots of God, Love. Be a living embodiment of Love and, perhaps in God's time, you will find yourself staring face to face with God and all will be revealed to you. To be a Christian at its roots is to follow in the footsteps of Christ: walk the path of Love for God and all things created under God. That is the greatest commandment of our Lord. Blessings from Yeheshua.

you shouldn't base your beliefs around your bf. yes, you should talk to both your rabbi and a priest.

Hrm.. I suggest reading the book of John and talking to some of the Messianic Jews. Between those, I'm sure you'll find the path. Given, that's biased to christianity, but... find your answers there. John explains the life of Jesus and the reason we believe He's the Messiah (most people will tell you to start there anyhow) and the Messianic Jews would be able to relate to your situation more, as they're closer to Judaism (I'm sure a few will be able to relate, too).

Talk to the Messianics. They're a happy medium between the two religions, and they know both sides of the story, being basically Jews that accept Yeshua (Jesus) as the Messiah. They're under the Congregation section.

Pray to God, maybe He will help lead your choices.
"Call onto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great things, and difficult, which thou knowest not."
Jeremiah 33:3

I hope you find the path, keep looking for the truth.
If you do decide to become a Christian, Jesus has already said that his believers will be persecuted in his name (see Matthew 3:10-11, and while you're at it, check out John 3:16, considered to be the greatest and most popular verse in the new testament). But if you're having issues, you always have us to fall back on. =)

Good luck.
