When my Aunt was abandoned by her husband, and she had no means by which to provide for her children (because my uncle certainly did not help) She went to the Mormon church, who took her in, fed her found her a job, steady income, food on the table etc. The church she had previously belonged to did nothing to help her, nor did any other...EXCEPT The LDS.

In the end, actions speak far louder than words. People can preach all they want that the LDS has the "Wrong beliefs" or is a "cult" or is "too powerful" but they do take care of people, and they help people learn to take care of themselves. This has been demonstrated over and over again.

I provide for my family, and I live a more and more non-materialistic life. I donate more to local food banks and ministries to help the poor and needy than some people on this forum even earn. I do this because it IS the right thing to do. Anything less would be unloving.
Thanks for your input Rick... Feeding hungry children is never wrong. May the Lord bless you for your good works.

Really?
I ought to go to LDS to find a job then.

Theres one just up the road. Would You recommend them?

Cos when i tell ppl in presbyterian churches and baptist churches i dont have a paying job, they just pray for me. Nobody takes me in. I live at home with unbelievers.

The lds church looks kinda scary. All of them have gates and spikes on their churches. I never see ppl there, and i go past it everyday. They have a huge lawn thing in front but i nver see any church picnics going on, im never invited to go inside.

I have mormon neighbours and none of them talk to me except the boy, and hes kinda weird. Their cat comes over though. They dont ever invite us over their place cos we dont go to their church. But the boy just knocks at my door when im home and asks for hugs.

I once sent him a christmas card but he didnt give one back. I dont know, i try not to judge. But when the boys come riding on their bicycles and try and recruit me for just walking down the street me and my friend avoid them.

Folks, this is not the place to proselytize for the LDS church. From my many experiences in a Mormon communities (30 years), I can tell you that getting help from that church involves being baptized into it. That would not be acceptable.

This is a Christian Only area of CF so either the discussion is about food storage and prepping or the thread will be closed.
