It is about the destruction of the Temple. The mashiach cut off is the High Priest.

Ok, but you have to understand without showing why I should take Jesus or the New Testament seriously, anything written within is not important to me. I enjoy the theology, I find it interesting to talk about, but I do not recognize it as scripture or as trustworthy. You have said someone that lived 2000 years ago promised to come back and be the messiah. He has not yet, so what does that mean to me? Can my grandfather come back and be the messiah?

Most Messianic prophecies are about the Messianic age and not the person of The Messiah.

What about my other questions?
Will God work through Messiah (like He did with Moses?) to accomplish the things He said He would do, like restoring the judges and returning the captivity?

That is my view exactly. The Messiah will be the actor through which HaShem works. The Messiah does not have to be the center of it all, naturally, but I think will be a central figure. If I miss questions, I am sorry. I am gone Friday night until Saturday night, so I sometimes miss posts.

because when jesus read it before his own....he said today in your hearing the scriptures are fulfilled.....


the spirit of hashem was upon him....all his prayers were answered....he was anointed with wisdom power might knowledge ....and work all miracles....healing sick .. blind saw mame lame leoprocy desiese healed dumb spoke lame walk.....deaf heard...casting out demons...lunatics healed...epileptics healed....feed multitudes...and did many more works not recorded....he preach the good tidings of the gospel and new testament teaching on salvation...he set all jews free from bondage of the law for them who believed....and even open the graves and set the ones held in the holding place free...many rose from the dead and testified....and seen of by many in israel.....
