Gender and diseaseare two completely separate issues. Gender is more hard core built into our genetic makeup than anything else. No amount of drugs or surgery can ever change a man into a woman. You would only be a man who appears to be a woman, but no amount of plastic surgery or hormonal therapy can change all of the Y chromosomes into X chromosomes.

I totally agree. It may be that God created transsexuals to test the rest of us to see how we would treat them. After all, God said to love our neighbors as ourselves. That includes transsexuals.

Christian !

My desire is to please God in sexual matters, ie within a faithful man/woman marriage.
I do have desires, or an orientation for many women, but that as far as a Christian is concerned is adultery and not God's purpose so I can't really say I am heterosexual

OK, wrongly put. It's genetic, but not in the same way as other genetic conditions (such as Sickle Cell Anaemia) which depend on both parents having the gene.

Genetic is more than being passed on from generation to generation, sometimes it involves such things as mutation.

Of course, transgenderism could also be environmental - due to changes in the environment of the womb for instance - or any number of other factors that have nothing to do with the intention of the transgender person.

Gender, by the way, is not anything like as fixed as species - ask anyone who has had to deal with figuring out whether a new baby born with male and female characteristics is either a girl or a boy...

All I know is, that I certainly wouldn't want to go through the processes of changing gender without some pretty heavy reason for doing so. But if it's an alternative to suicide (as it is for many transgender people)...

God created people to love everyone else. He also created people to love whoever they fall in love with. Also, a homosexual can't imagine having someone of the opposite sex so the emotional appeal there is kind of a mute point.
