Do you have a post or thread that you consider your magnum opus?

If so, list it here.

I consider two threads to be mine:
  1. My Apple Challenge, which shows creatio ex nihilo leaves no evidence.
  2. My Raisin Bread Challenge, which shows you can't make something ex nihilo without being accused of deception.
Note: this thread is not for debate purposes; only to list your accomplishment(s).

Mine would be that human health depends on a diet limited in amount and variety, and that human sickness is the result of over indulging in a wide variety of foods. And that good food is cheap.

Unfortunately I can't find an easy way to search my old threads.
Under "Profiles" you have both postings and featured threads.
And you can advanced search for postings with your name.

I get a "no such page" error when trying to follow the link. Plus, I wouldn't know how to find all threads started by me either.
Go to your profile page.

Click on "Postings."

Scroll to the bottom.

Click on "Find all threads by dysert."

I don't know that I have a magnum opus, but the Lord surprises me sometimes with how He inspires and governs and leads me to words in posts. It's something that keeps me going when I feel so discouraged and down and in valley's of despair. Sola Deo Gloria!

Ha, I sure hope I haven't already made my best post. There's always room for improvement. I hope to make my magnum opus one of the last posts I ever make, as a mark of continuing to improve over time.

I thought you agreed with me when I said that the increased mass of the universe counts as evidence for creation ex nihilo...

You thought correctly.

But did you see PsychoSara's (?) point about no one knowing the level of mass/energy before, as compared to after?

I've said this before, and it bears repeating here:

It would take omniscience to be able to tell the difference at that level.

So for Occam's razor's sake, I just agree that no evidence exists -- even though technically it does.

Technically, if it was known where the bread would appear, you could set it up such that it would appear within a vacuum with a scale so that the increased mass would be measured, despite not knowing the mass of the whole universe.

But, that demands information not given regardless. Just wanted to mention that measuring the entire mass of the universe before and after wasn't necessary, since it is fairly simple to measure the mass of the finite area in which the bread miraculously appears.

by the way, I love videos of marshmallows in vacuum chambers

That wouldn't work.

Nature abhors a vacuum.

Even though there appears to be a vacuum, the area is criss-crossed with energy.

This would "contaminate" the experiment by allowing for creatio ex materia.

The amount of energy required to make a loaf of bread just using it alone is so immense that the delicate vacuum machine would break if that much energy was inside it. That is, energy gets converted to matter at extremely high temperatures and photon concentration only.

Also, even in labs that can perform this process, it doesn't form compounds found in bread. So even if I had the equipment needed, including a highly durable vacuum chamber and a miraculous compressed brick of photons, I wouldn't be able to convert the energy to raisin bread.

So my suggestion of weighing the mass of a finite space would work, but again, only if one knew the bread was about to be generated. It couldn't be made ex nihilo in terms of mass because the vacuum machine would directly be measuring the mass in the chamber, and it couldn't be made ex nihilo in terms of energy because the amount of energy would be felt by observers and certainly break most vacuum chambers.

Still would need to know when and where the bread was going to appear, though.
