throughout the 80s-mid 90s Whiteheart (previously mentioned) was/is a favorite.

Going back even further, I'm partial to Andrae' Crouch and the Disciples
This is Another Day being one of my favorite albums of all time, regardless of genre.
70s funky, disco'ie, urban Gospel.. the "parliment'esque" breakdown into a sax solo is too much. I just love it.
