  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What is your favorite ancient creature from any period in time?

Hey All,

I figured I’d post something everyone, both believers and non, could enjoy as a sort of share-chat. I don’t dwell on the age of the earth too often, but I cannot deny earths layers clearly and evidently present us with countless remains of astonishing beasts and animals that walked on our beloved planet. but to get to the point, if you could choose. All the way to the Archean Period to the Holocene(Now) what creature would you pick?

Mine personally Id pick either the Short-Faced bear, The Megatherium, or the Irish Elk. I can’t think of any others at the moment but I’ll update with responses!

in reality: the pterodactyl, even though some don't consider them "dinosaurs."

Nope -- leviathan.
Some people interpret Job 40 as Biblical basis for Dinosaurs.

On the other hand-

As my Scripture professor told me, leviathan was basically God's pet ;)

If it existed it would have been the unicorn. ^_^

They are not Dinosaurs. They are Pterosaurs. They are both in the clade Ornithodira but are not the same. Dinosaurs are have distinctive features of the skeleton like a window-like opening in the pelvis where the thigh bone connects. Pterosaurs don’t have this joint, and they have their own unique features such as extra-long fourth fingers that support their wings.
