You're confusing 'common sense' with 'conventional wisdom'. Conventional wisdom is often wrong, common sense is rarely so.

Indeed; however, "common sense" is also rarely common. Something of a misnomer, really.

I used to play DnD. My son is into it at the moment. Books and papers all over ther basement, and oddly shaped dice strewn about.

If I have kids do I have to stop playing AD&D?
Our party is strewn over the breadth of this county. So we only get to play about 4 times a year.
I'm currently playing a level 5 monk (1st edition rules) which are a bit of a challenge.

Ps. The one true Fruitcake will destroy the minions of the cupcake.

"Common sense" is often wrong. That's the whole point of gathering statistical data -- to correct common sense when it misleads.

Neither necessarily proves a causal relationship.

In my experience, when someone says "common sense says" it's just another way of saying "In my opinion." Everyone seems to have their own idea of what common sense is.

In my limited by generally accurate experience, "common sense" shows you the current boundaries. "But what/why/how/when/where...?" Opens the door and " here is what I found. Check it out" is how we move forward.

No, you just have to boast of your roleplaying skills, and how you are not simply seeking the most "plusses" for your PCs.

Yes, 1st edition monks are definitely unpowered at low levels. (Need more plusses!)

so its the music to blame now for kids having sex??? i think the parents are to blame. how about checking there i pod once in a while to see whats on there. or talking to your kids about sex to begin with??
