Romans 12:

19 Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave it to the wrath of God, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay, says the Lord.”
Strong's Greek: 3709. ὀργή (orgé) — 36 Occurrences
12 times, G3709 appeared in Ro; 6 times in Re.

BDAG:
① state of relatively strong displeasure, w. focus on the emotional aspect, anger
② strong indignation directed at wrongdoing, w. focus on retribution, wrath
ⓐ of the past and pres.: of judgment on the desert generation
ⓑ of God’s future judgment specifically qualified as punitive

The wrath of God is the righteous anger of God and the righteous punishment dispensed by God.

John 3:

36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him
i.e., the eternal punishment.

Romans 2:

5 But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed
i.e., the last day, the judgment day.

The wrath of God can mean:

  1. the righteous anger of God
  2. the righteous punishment by God
  3. the eternal condemnation
  4. the judgment day.
But we have the good news, Romans 5:

9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
True believers are not targets of God's wrath.

There was another Greek word that was sometimes translated as "wrath".

ESV, Revelation 12:

12 Therefore, rejoice, O heavens and you who dwell in them! But woe to you, O earth and sea, for the devil has come down to you in great wrath, because he knows that his time is short!”
Strong's Greek: 2372. θυμός (thumos) — 18 Occurrences

BDAG:
① intense expression of the inner self, freq. expressed as strong desire, passion, passionate longing
② a state of intense displeasure, anger, wrath, rage, indignation

Berean Standard Bible:

with great fury the devil has come down to you, knowing he has only a short time.”
There are God's G3709-wrath and Satan's G2372-fury.

Heres something I thought was interesting concerning wrath also, check out these similarities

Isaiah 9:19 Through the wrath of the LORD of hosts is the land darkened,
and the people shall be as the fuel of the fire: no man shall spare his brother.

Here there is a darkening of the earth a noon

Amos 8:9 And it shall come to pass in that day, saith the Lord GOD,
that I will cause the sun to go down at noon, and I will darken the earth in the clear day

Noon would be the sixth hour where darkness came over the land here

Mat 27:45 Now from the sixth hour there was darkness over all the land unto the ninth hour.

Followed by the cry of the forsakeness he felt

Mat 27:46 And about the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice,
saying, Eli, Eli, lama sabachthani? that is to say, My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me?

Which could very similarlly be seen in the following

Isaiah 54:7 For a small moment have I forsaken thee; but with great mercies will I gather thee.

Isaiah 54:8 In a little wrath I hid my face from thee for a moment; but with everlasting kindness
will I have mercy on thee, saith the LORD thy Redeemer
.

Acts 13:34 And as concerning that he raised him up from the dead, now no more to return to corruption,
he said on this wise, I will give you the sure mercies of David.

Isaiah 55:3 Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live;
and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

Even wrath can be shown as darkness over the land, or the hiding of his face.

If wrath abides on someone that believes not do you think they feel his anger or do you think they walk in darkness?

Some feel his anger in this life. Some feel his anger in the afterlife. Our job is tell them the good news, Romans 5:
9 Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God.
